Important Information

Safety Warning
Caution: Keep away from any source of flame. Pampers Diapers, like almost any article of clothing, will burn if exposed to flame. To avoid risk of choking on plastic, padding, or other materials, do not allow your child to tear the diaper, or handle any loose pieces of the diaper. Discard any torn or unsealed diaper, or any loose pieces of the diaper. To avoid suffocation, keep all plastic bags away from babies and children. If you notice gel-like material on your baby's skin, don't be alarmed. This comes from the diaper padding and can be easily removed by wiping your baby's skin with a soft dry cloth.

In my house we have 5 kids, and one more coming. The last four came in a five year period, and this next one will be within 6.5 years. This has highly motivated me to get the "baby" out of diapers early. So we potty train around 12 months, and are day time finished (they can tell me and take themselves, except for wiping) before 19m. I have not had two in diapers in the daytime ever. This is the primary reason I choose Easy Ups over Pull Ups, they are more conducive to small, early starters.

1: they fit my smallest kids (I have a few very small/thin kids) and since these run fairly small, they fit. Pull Ups doesn't make anything that fits a 12month old.

2: because the sides can't open, my smallest kids can handle them roughly as they learn to pull them up.

3: they don't leak overnight or at naptime (the time I rely on them the most; typically in the daytime they are in underpants not easy ups.)

Some people have mentioned the annoyance of not having tabs, and therefore having to take shoes and pants off when they go out and have an accident. The age kids that I have been training typically need you to take pants and shoes off for sitting on the potty anyway, since their legs are so short, they need to spread them farther apart (especially boys!) to be sure that everything makes it into the potty. Also, kids this age seem to think that pants HAVE to come off to use the potty, so I end up taking everything off each time anyway. The easiest way around this is to train in the summer, and wear a wide leg short, or a skirt for girls. In the winter, I haven't found any good way around it for boys, but girls can still wear a skirt, with leg warmers.

My toddler HATES getting his diaper changed. Always has. He's mastered doing the crocodile twist and bucking bronco on the changing table.

I had seen these diapers advertised but never really considered them because I could just see what a nightmare it would be to REMOVE a dirty diaper by sliding it down. I'm envisioning poop smeared down chubby toddler legs. No thank you.

But then a friend who had just potty trained her 3 year old gave me her left over pull ups and easy ups. On a whim I tried them both and realized how AWESOME the pull on diaper is. Even for a kid that's not potty training yet.

Pros: they are infinitely easier to get on my kid. I pull them on while he's standing up. He puts his legs int he holes for me. No more wrestling matches = happy momma.

They are really soft and absorbent. These diapers actually contain wetness much better than Huggies Pull Ups when I compared the two. Pull Ups definitely get leaky overnight. These do not.

Reasonably priced! When I did a price comparison (using my 20% off Amazon Mom/Prime discount), these diapers worked out to 26 cents/each. That's compared to 27 cents for Baby Drys, 38 cents for Cruisers and 32 cents for Pull Ups. They are the cheapest - and even slightly cheaper than the infant baby dry diapers! Woo hoo! That's awesome for a training style diaper.

Sizing: My 23 month old is 33.5 lbs and wears a 3T most of the time, but can wear 2T pants and shorts. The 3T-4T easy ups fit him perfectly, so I'd say these diapers run small. My kid was busting out of Size 6 diapers though, so prior to this we were using the size 7 Pampers Cruisers - which could get leaky and are significantly more expensive (see previous paragraph).

I bought this pull up when my son was not potty trained just to use it like a diaper as it was easy to put on . Boy, I was wrong! It did not contain the poops well and it invariably leaked. I ended up giving him baths and washing his pants! I would recommend this as a pull up but not as a diaper as how I tried.

We have used just about every brand of disposable diaper, and Pampers are my favorite. I don't always buy them because they are the most expensive brand, but when I can I buy Swaddlers. They are so soft. When we started potty training our 23-month-old son, it was a challenge to use cotton trainers in public. I decided to buy a pack of all of the above brands to try for when we are out and about. They are easier to use in restrooms than regular diapers and they catch more of an accident in the early training days than cotton trainers and plastic pants. For the record, we are mostly using Under The Nile organic cotton trainers and Dappi nylon pants at home. I was worried about buying these at first. Would they be worth the money? Should I essentially put my son back in a diaper when we are out, and would it confuse him?

I am happy to say that he seems to tell me he has to go just as often in these as in cotton trainers. I like these the best of the three above brands, and here is why:

The fit. Target's Up & Up brand were way too small in size 2T-3T. They barely fit over his butt, and he's an average-to-skinny guy at 29 lbs. and 36 inches tall. I am stuck using them up but I'd have to size up next time. Huggies also run a little small. I'd buy the next size up in their Pull Ups as well. The Pampers 2T-3T fit ok. Size 3T-4T fit even better.

The feel. Pampers are the softest of the 3 brands, and they almost feel as soft as Swaddlers. The other 2 brands aren't necessarily rough, but just not as soft.

The containment. Pull Ups leak horribly. The Up & Up don't leak, but they don't hold as much as Easy Ups. My son pees a ton and I have to be really careful I change him right away.
