4.0 out of 5 stars An American's view of the Libyan People - Through the Lockerbie case
As I have extensively travelled to Libya during and after the US sanctions on this country, It was very interesting for me to see an American's view of the Libyan people, and the country itself. I am half way through the book, and cant put it down (its making me go late to the office in the morning). The way the book is written is detailed and gives you a direct feeling...

3.0 out of 5 stars The Search for the Truth!!!
Despite all the books, I keep searching for the truth about the causes and circumstances of the explosion of a Pan Am 747 Clipper Maid of the Seas jet exploding over Lockerbie, Scotland and surrounding areas on December 21, 1988, the darkest day of the year. I bought every book related to the case and I'm not convinced of William Chasey's charge against American...

4.0 out of 5 stars An American's view of the Libyan People - Through the Lockerbie case, September 7, 2005
This review is from: Pan Am 103: The Lockerbie Cover-Up (Paperback)
As I have extensively travelled to Libya during and after the US sanctions on this country, It was very interesting for me to see an American's view of the Libyan people, and the country itself. I am half way through the book, and cant put it down (its making me go late to the office in the morning). The way the book is written is detailed and gives you a direct feeling of the author's mixed balance in trying to believe the Libyan account fo what happened in the Lockerbie case, and still trying to understand and believe his own country, the United States. I would suggest this book to any avid reader who is interested in this subject, especially after the 911 incidents, and the political direction the world has taken since then.

This review is from: Pan Am 103: The Lockerbie Cover-Up (Paperback)
Despite all the books, I keep searching for the truth about the causes and circumstances of the explosion of a Pan Am 747 Clipper Maid of the Seas jet exploding over Lockerbie, Scotland and surrounding areas on December 21, 1988, the darkest day of the year. I bought every book related to the case and I'm not convinced of William Chasey's charge against American authorities.

This case is still puzzling after almost 20 years. Still I remember the victims and their families who all but seem forgotten since September 11, 2001. Granted 270 lives is a small number compared to the events of September 11, 2001 but still the explosion of Pan Am 103 should mark the beginning of terrorism against Americans.

The book tries to explain Libya's side in this involvement. I don't believe that they had anything nor are they completely innocent. The sad tragedy is America's role in the Middle East which is really supporting Israel over the other countries and treating Middle Eastern Muslims particularly as inferior.

This issue really does not help American relations in the Middle East any better even after 18 years. America is occupying Iraq without a clue and pretty much sabotaging stability in the Middle East. Libya like Iran and Iraq and other countries in the Middle East have much to be angry with the United States. Before 1948 and the creation of the state of Israel, America really had no interest there except for oil.

Now with the Zionist organizations and pro-Israeli groups in our country who dictate American foreign policies to support Israel no matter what the cost to our country even if it means supporting apartheid practices which are going on between Israelis and Palestinians who were ironically born there and forced out.

Regardless of the mess in the Middle East, Chasey does provide valid points about our own country's policy in the Middle East. But if not Libya, then which country was involved in the bombing?

5.0 out of 5 stars A great insight to the reality of our Government, February 22, 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: Pan Am 103: The Lockerbie Cover-Up (Paperback)
I highly recommend Dr. Chasey's book. He is a true American hero who has been attacked by his own Government for bringing the truth to the American public. I believe his book should be required reading for all Political Science majors and anyone interested in the reality of American Government and how they are terrorists to their own country. A must read!

If you want to know what happened to Pan Am flight 103 read Richard Marquise' book "ScotBom"--he actually investigated the case. This author hasn't a clue.

1.0 out of 5 stars anti-American propaganda, May 15, 2006

Of course Chasey wants Libya off the hook-he's getting payed by their Government to sabotage the United States. My brother Mark Lawrence Christopher Tobin was killed in the Pan Am Bombing, and there is plenty of extensive evidence that Libya did it with Iranian money backing it in retaliation for the unfortunate Iranian Airbus downing by the Vincennes, which contrary to popular belief, Reagan did apologize for and offer victims'families compensation which the Iranian Government would not allow.
There is also a sculpture of a large, black fist grabbing a white plane to "celebrate" the bombing in Libya, and Lamen Kalifah Fimah was given a hero's welcome when he returned to Libya after the Scottish Trial in the Netherlands.
Unfortunately Qaddaffi was not captured like Hussein or Milosevic and forced to answer for his war crimes, and current liberal Bush is allowing Libya off the state terrorist sponsor list so that BP,Marathon, Occidental Petroleum, Exxon-Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell, Conoco-Phillips and Amerada-Hess can do business with that cowardly regime.
