I'm very impatient when it comes to results but I have realized that getting rid of breakouts/acne/blemishes/pimples can't be done over night. Even though it's a facial wash, I mainly bought this so I could use it on my back and chest. I bought the 2.5% instead of the 5% or 10% for two reasons. One being that I don't want it to be too harsh if I do use it on my face. And secondly, research has shown that 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide works JUST AS effectively as the more powerful doses but does not irritate the skin as much as that of the 5% or 10%. My chest has cleared up within 2 weeks except for this one annoying spot (which I'm working on). As for the back, I haven't noticed any new breakouts in the last four days. Any older pimples are being reduced in size or already dried up and starting to disappear (again, except for one specific spot on my back as well).

Important Side Note: I'm using this product combined with "Alpha Hydrox AHA Enhanced Lotion" (Look it up on this site). AHA is used to treat wrinkles and skin scarring such as marks left behind on my back from acne. By using the Benzoyl Peroxide and AHA together on my back and chest, there have been no new break outs for the most part. Also, my back is now actually really smooth thanks to the AHA. And the marks are also starting to fade. Not completely gone but it's in the right step. Also, summer is near and doing some tanning will help my back SIGNIFICANTLY. Despite what the "experts" say about staying out of the sun ........ when I go out in the sun, my acne goes away 100% and my marks peel off and my back is 90% better than before. Still some marks but very very minimal and not even worth mentioning.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lower Percentage of Benzoyl Peroxide is Better!, April 5, 2011

Just left the Dermatologist office. When the Dermatologist discovered I was paying $45 (with Rx Insurance) for Brevoxyl the Dermatologist was shocked at the price. She refused to write another prescription and suggested I purchase the over the counter version called Panoxyl. The Dermatologist said it worked the same as the much more expensive Brevoxyl. The key was that I get a LOWER percentage of Benzoyl Peroxide (contrary to what I would have thought). So lower is better!

Simply the best BP face wash out there!!

The talk is true... 2.5% BP is just as effective as 5% or 10% BP, while being less harsh on your skin. I can't think of a better 2.5% BP face wash than this. It goes on silky smooth, washes off clean, and most importantly it works!

I've used just about every OTC product available at local retailers and I've never ordered a face product online until now. I wish my local retailers carried this product, but since they don't, I'll gladly continue to buy this product online.

I didn't think there was a difference in BP face washes. I assumed one BP face wash was just as good as another. WRONG. These is a difference. This stuff puts the OTC products to shame. Plus, you will not even find 2.5% BP face wash OTC. It's all 5-10%.

CVS has a 3.5% BP face wash, but it's pretty bad. Feels very soapy. Horrid compared to this product.

Note: I use a daytime and nighttime moisturizer. Always have. Always will. I suggest doing the same with any BP product. BP does have a bit of a drying effect on the skin regardless of the percentage you use. But 2.5% is as mild as it gets.
