I returned this product to Adorama. It was very poorly & cheaply made. I never could get it to work, as the electrical contacts were so poorly made and misaligned that it would not illuminate. They were very good about refunding my money.

Dust on the inside of the projector lens is hard to clean. Mechanism not tolerant of slightly bent slides - allows them to get stuck and hard to remove.

Using the device is quite easy and it show the slides with good magnification.
Inserting the D batteries, however, is something of a pain. I'm using the optional power supply where possible, to delay battery replacement.

I've had two of these. One was a while ago and it didn't work too well, but I needed another slide viewer and thought they had to have changed the design in 20 years, but no, they still aren't worth a dollar. It should be an easy thing to mfg., but they are still made with a very poor design. DON'T BUY IT.

This product is not worth your money. It is a very poor quality. Save your money.

This is exactly the same as what my grandparents bought years ago! You can't argue with a great design. I recommend buying the power adapter.

Product was perfect for what I needed. 500 Slides that had to be reviewed prior to converting to DVD. This Pana Vue allows for multiple slide viewing. Tricky to put together (loading batteries) but take your time and read directions very carefully.

I had a Pana-Vue Automatic - Slide viewer from a number of years ago, but found that batteries had accidentally been left in it and corroded, so ordered a new one from Amazon. It looked exactly like my old one, but found on inserting new batteries that the light would not come on. I tried two other sets of new batteries, just in case, and the light still wouldn't come on. Thinking it might be the bulb, I tried replacing it with the bulb from my old one (it was still good). It still didn't come on. Ended up sending it back for a refund.

I used the same slide sorter (different color) years ago. The current model is just as reliable and easy to use. Changing batteries is NOT difficult if you follow the directions carefully and don't assume (as I did) that you know how to do it. I have experienced occasional jams, but every time there has been an obvious cause -- usually a defect in the slide, but once in a while because my stack was loaded with a slide out of alignment. If you have hundreds or thousands of slides to review, this is the best tool available short of a projector with a stack loader.

The image is clear and large enough to be useful. My slides are forty years old and leave lots of dust, so I would appreciate an easier way to clean the lens.

The price is good. It has worked well with only minor glitches from jamming a slide now and then. It is CERTAINLY more convenient than similar products which require one at a time loading instead of the 30 or so this can handle.
