This worked in the spot I wanted to use it. It is simple to assemble and does the job. I would have liked the product description to indicate I needed to provide the 2X4s and the screws.

This is one of the easiest assemblies I've ever experienced. I opened the box, took out the two metal end pieces, and inserted the two by fours in the slots. Two screws at each end finished the job.

The metal pieces have just enough heft to give them strength.Mine had a couple minor scratches that I touched up with some flat black spray paint, a touch up that probably wasn't necessary.

While waiting for my "log rack" to arrive from Amazon, I bought another model from the big box, chain hardware store for ten dollars less. The two by fours didn't fit the slots in my bargain log rack and I had to shave them a bit to make them fit. Also the ends came in two pieces that had to be assembled.
I like the log rack from Amazon much better.

On one log rack I added a pair of vertical boards to make two storage areas. I use the narrower of the spots for small diameter pieces of wood. It's worked out nicely.

To keep the wooden supports of the firewood rack up off the ground I've placed the rack on some concrete blocks. This elevates the rack and tends to keep the wood drier. I measured the bottom boards from outer edge to outer edge; it's only about 10.5". The other end is almost an inch wider. An extra inch would have been nice for better stability. One could probably adjust the width a little by forcing spacers between the support boards or manually trying to bend the end pieces wider. Now that my rack is set up, I don't think I'll bother trying to widen it now.

All in all I am mostly pleased with this product.

Excellent product. It perfoms just how I thought it would. Easliy adjustable to fit your needs.

Assembled unit with regular 2X4 studding material. Measured the custom width I needed for the rack. Cut a set of 2X4 rails out of one 2X4X8 length and used left over piece for a 'T' brace between the the 2X4 rails. Filled rack to the top with wood. A little flex on the rails but feels sturdy enough. It works...
Note: You supply the screws. Also, because studding 2X4s are less than 2" X 4", there is some "slop" in the rail slot openings - they are larger - closer to a "real" 2X4 size. Not a problem but worth noting.

Not an overly complicated product, you're just buying the two metal ends that have bottoms sized to perfectly slide onto the ends of a 2x4. It should not come as a surprise that you need to supplies the 2x4s, but I was surprised that screws were not included. I used a 1/4" wide, 1" long lag screw after predrilling holes that were slightly smaller.

Needed another rack after filling the two similar racks I have used for several years. Checked out local stores -- the only thing I saw was ridiculously flimsy. This item looked like my original racks, but turned out to be smaller and less sturdy. It did arrive unbelievably fast, and would probably work fine for small quantities of split firewood, but lacks the capacity if you are cutting, splitting & seasoning your own logs.

After more searching I was able to locate the original design and have ordered two more racks (lots of downed wood here from Irene!). I will keep the Panacea for kindling & small stuff, but it does not have the strength & holding capacity for larger quantities.

I gave it a 3 because although it is better than the big-box racks I saw, its capacity is a bit limited and there are better options. If your needs are small, it may work fine for you.

This is the third set of these log rack ends that we've purchased. Don't know if they were all made be the same manufacturer, but they are all pretty much identical. We go through a couple cords of firewood each winter and we have these set up as 2" x 4" x 12' long. Even the ones that are several years old are just about like new...only the paint is somewhat faded.

This log rack arrived on time and is exactly as described. It is a great price for a sturdy rack that was very easy to assemble.

Works as advertised, simple and effective, took very little time to put together. I like the fact that the length is customizable, you need your own screws but that is really no big deal.

The pieces are ok as you should beef up the back with braceing so the sides don't bow out. Go as long as you want with it just brace it & it's fine!
