I like these shoes. I use my water shoes for surf fishing and usually fish in ankle to knee deep water on sandy beaches with lots of surf action. Most water shoes seem to use a somewhat open mesh fabric as part of the construction to help with water drainage, but for me, these shoes fill up with fine sand quickly and become cumbersome and uncomfortable. These Panama Jacks have a tight weave throughout and the sand doesn't get washed into the shoe nearly as quickly.

For size, though, these are quite large. I usually wear a size 10 1/2 to 11 shoe and have become used to ordering a 10 in water shoes since they are generally slightly oversized new and stretch out some after use. I ordered these shoes in a 10 and they still feel maybe half a size too large. So I'd say that these shoes are at *least* a full size larger than your normal shoe size... maybe a tad more.

Due to the local wet/humid climate, I have purchased Speedo brand water shoes for use as outdoor "slippers" and work shoes for many years. Recently, Speedo discontinued my favorite style and upped the price significantly for their replacement item. This prompted me to go looking elsewhere for a cost-effective substitute. I found it in this item - the Panama Jack Men's Aqua Sock. They seem to be just as well-made (if not sturdier) as the Speedos at roughly half the price. The Panama Jack's also seem to fit truer to size than the Speedos. All-in-all, I am very satisfied with my purchase. I bought one pair for trial, then three more (one pair for each door). Free shipping from Amazon was an added bonus.

Comfy enough to wear around the house, down to the beach, driving, or whatever you're up to. Well thought out shoes, with a vent port in the sole, to allow water to exit, when you hit dry land. No "water balloons" on your feet, thanks to the drain port. Solid body (no mesh) on shoes, keeps excess sand from entering when making your way to and from the water. Fit is just a bit on the large side, for how you want a water shoe to fit, but depends on your feet. I am a perfect size 12, and could almost order an 11 for a tighter fit. My son, on the other hand, is also a 12, but has thicker feet. They fit him perfectly. Cannot beat these for the price, comfort, and design. SURF'S UP!!

I just returned from a canoe trip with my 9 month old Bullmastiff. I've had problems with aqua socks peeling themselves off my feet while swimming before, and this was my main worry with this brand as well. To attempt to prevent this from occurring I ordered the size 9, though in most shoes I wear a wide 9.5 or a 10. They fit and worked wonderfully. Comfortable and protective of my feet on the rocky riverbed, they never once felt as if they'd fall off while swimming or dog chasing. My only complaint is that the insoles came out with my feet at the end of the day. If that hadn't happened, they'd have earned a 5 star rating.

Useful if walking a pier, rocky shore, taking an outdoor shower poolside which has a nasty drain you do not want to step in barefoot. The water does not drain on its own after swimming or showering, the "socks" still need to be tipped upside down to get the water out so that they can begin to dry. There is an inner sole that does not stay in place.

    I purchased both the

    1. Panama Jack - Mens Aqua Sock, Grey, Orange 34393-13D(M)US
    2. Fidlansky Men's Laced Water Shoes - Aqua Socks for Pool, Beach, Lake, Yoga, Exercise with Drawsting.

I was vacating at our lake tahoe house, but live in San Diego, so figured I could use both.

I have a size 13 foot, so it was important that the shoes fit well which they both did. The
Panama jack had a wider toe, so might work better if your foot is wide.

Lake tahoe has a rocky shore, so my first concern was the sole. Both provided good protection against the rocks, but the Fidlansky was slightly better.

Both shoes were comfortable and seemed well made. I thought I wouldn't like the Drawsting on the Fidlansky, but was wrong - it was just as nice as the aquasock.

Neither had super high quality, but for 10 bucks, I wasn't expecting much. The PJ insole slipped significantly after a little time in the water, this wasn't an issue with the Fidlansky.

The PJ had a minor manufacturing defect where the shoe store covering was folded over on itself and sealed. This didn't affect the wear or protection at all.

After a day of heavy use, a stitching came out of the.Fidlansky, but will be easily repaired.

My feeling is that the PJ will be better for use on the soft San Diego sand.

Quite low quality (thread goes out and not stitched and diverges). Nothing common with original Panama Jack (Spain), please be careful.

I usually wear a women's 8 1/2, but wanted these to not be all that snug. Walking around in beach sand I like to be able to quickly remove and rinse them out without having to dance a jig. The foot bed size of these is perfect, but the opening for my foot is a little small and not that stretchy, so getting them on takes a little brute force, at my age my balance/flexibility isn't what it used to be, so I have to be sitting down to wrestle them on. Then they feel less than comfortable since the material around the opening is tight across the top of my foot.
Haven't tried them on any wet surfaces yet, but the sole seems grippy enough to work. If that turns out to not be the case, I'll come back and change my review.

This pair also seemed like they might have been worn since the bottoms had some dirt on them, not any sign of really used, just might have been tried on and walked around in for a bit.
