Product Description

From the Manufacturer

Level 2 Power Cleaning and Linear Filtration eliminates common symptoms of contaminated power (including loss of detail, pops, hisses, hums and visual artifacts) and allows your A/V equipment to perform up to its full capability. Panamax's patent pending AVM circuitry continuously monitors the incoming power as displayed on the digital voltmeter. In case of an undervoltage or an overvoltage, a flashing lightning bolt will be displayed in red in the voltmeter, and power to the connected equipment is automatically turned off if either of these conditions is detected. When voltage returns to a safe level, power to the equipment is automatically reconnected.

The M4300-PM is designed to provide noise isolation between 2 isolated outlet banks including 4 high current outlets so that any noise created by an A/V component can not contaminate the power going to equipment plugged into another outlet bank.

Improve Your Picture and Sound Quality While Protecting Your Home Theater Investment

All the features you need to keep your system running clean and safe

Automatic Over and Under Voltage Protection

Panamax's patent pending power monitoring circuitry constantly monitors the AC line voltage for unsafe voltage conditions such as momentary spikes, prolonged over-voltages and undervoltages (brownouts). These unsafe conditions pose a very dangerous threat to all electronic equipment within the home. If the MAX 4300-PM senses an unsafe power condition, it will automatically disconnect your equipment from the power to protect equipment from damage. Once the voltage returns to a safe level, the MAX 4300-PM will automatically reconnect the power. When subjected to a 6,000V (open circuit voltage) / 500A (short circuit current) surge, the MAX 4300-PM limits its voltage output to less than 330V peak, UL's best rating. The MAX 4300-PM will withstand, without damage, 20,000 Ampere surges, far exceeding the UL requirement of only 3,000 Ampere surges. The MOV's are rated for a peak impulse current of 60,000 Amperes, which ensures the safety and durability of the MAX 4300-PM's protection circuitry. If the magnitude of the surge is greater than the capacity of the surge protection components, the MAX 4300-PM's Protect or Disconnect Circuitry will disconnect your equipment in order to protect it. The MAX 4300-PM will need to be repaired or replaced by Panamax if this occurs.

USB Charger and Gaming Outlet

MAX 4300-PM features a front panel convenience charger for mp3 players, cell phones, and other small electronics. MAX 4300-PM also features a convenience outlet located on the front panel that's perfect for gaming systems and other electronics.

Cable/Satellite/Antenna as Well as Telephone and LAN Line Protection

Coaxial protection circuits achieve optimum signal quality from our new coaxial protectors that have the smallest signal loss on the market - less than 0.5 db of attenuation from 0Hz to 2.2GHz. Our upgraded coaxial protection has been specifically designed to virtually eliminate signal loss. The clamping level of 75V will meet the demands of both cable and satellite voltage while minimizing exposure to damaging spikes and surges.

Digital video recorders and satellite TV receivers require a telephone line connection for TV show scheduling and/or Pay-Per-View services. The M4300-PM provides telephone protection on one set of RJ-11 jacks. The telephone line protection circuitry utilizes auto-resetting PTCRs and solidstate SIDACtors for reliability and unsurpassed protection. The clamping level of the MAX 4300-PM's telephone protector is 260 volts. This will allow typical ring voltage (90-130VAC) and operating battery voltage (-48DC) to pass through the circuit and still protect the modem in your satellite receiver from damage.

Protection circuits are also provided for 10/100 baseT Ethernet lines. Incoming LAN line MUST be plugged into the LINE jack. Patch cord to the equipment MUST be plugged into the EQUIP jacks. 8 wire protection, 50V clamping.

Isolated Banks

Linear EMI/RFI Noise Filtration with Isolation Between Outlet Banks: Your audio/video components are constantly being bombarded by electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) through their AC power source. This contaminated power can affect audio/video equipment and will degrade the overall performance of your entire system. Common symptoms of contaminated power include loss of picture detail, dull colors, pops, hisses, hums and visual artifacts. The MAX 4300-PM is designed to eliminate noise contamination, supply clean power to your system and provide noise isolation between the outlet banks so that any noise created by A/V components cannot contaminate the power going to equipment plugged into the other outlet banks of the MAX 4300-PM.

Linear Filtering Technology (LiFT)

For improving picture and sound quality nothing filters AC noise better. LiFT evenly eliminates noise across the entire bandwidth, ensuring peak audio and video performance by reducing harmonic distortion and improving the signal-to-noise ratio. With LiFT, you are assured consistent performance and the highest resolution from any audio or video system.

The M4300 provides reliable basic power protection for entry-level home theater systems

    5.0 out of 5 stars Outstanding--better than expected even, January 2, 2009

This review is from: Panamax M4300-PM 9 Outlet Clean Power Level 2 - Black (Electronics)
I got this to solve a very prominent low-level feedback hum coming through my TV and sound system speakers, and by running my cable line through this system, it fixed it! No more *very annoying* hum. Also, I can really see an marked improvement in the quality of the picture and hear a difference in the sound, particularly with cable channels.

Originally, I purchased the Monster HDP 1800 PowerCenter, but lost about one-third of my cable channels due to interference from the unit with the cable signal. Even installing a signal amplifier didn't solve the issue. But taking those back and getting the Panamax in its place solved everything. According to Panamax, they have the lowest loss of cable signal in the industry (< 0.5 dB). Plus, the protection is superior.

The unit has a convenient outlet and USB charging station on the front, and is also very nice looking--much nicer looking than the one I originally purchased in my opinion.

    Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Reliable Power, November 17, 2008
This review is from: Panamax M4300-PM 9 Outlet Clean Power Level 2 - Black (Electronics)
I bought my Panamax M4300-PM during a particularly bad spring and summer lightning storm season here in Virgina. Call me a sucker or call me an A/V enthusiast but I firmly believe that the strength of one's home theater is only as good as the weakest link. At the very least this unit gives me piece of mind.

The M4300 is a breeze to set up and comes with enough plug-ins for a moderately sized home theater. There are 2 power banks, one for high-current electronics such as HDTV, DVD, DVR, etc. and a separate bank for audio components. Each has 4 plug-ins. The idea is to isolate each of the banks so that interference is not possible. The unit also features the requisite adapters for RG6, telephone and ethernet cables to completely protect the home theater.

Functionally, the M4300 is completely quiet. The front of the unit features an easy to read blue light display with the current wattage feeding into the unit. The knobs on the front are actually static, downward facing amber LEDs. The main purpose is to illuminate A/V stacks in dark rooms without having to turn on a separate overhead light. To Panamax's credit the front display of the unit is very clean and the refresh rate of the wattage display isn't as distracting as similar Monster Cable Power Conditioners which in my experience are constantly adjusting the wattage display.

All in all I've been very pleased with the M4300 and look forward to continuous years of peace of mind even during those spring and summer storms.

4.0 out of 5 stars A Power Conditioner (whatever the heck that means), October 29, 2007
    Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panamax M4300-PM 9 Outlet Clean Power Level 2 - Black (Electronics)
Ahh, for the days when "power" was electricity that came out of the socket and just worked. But now we have increasingly sensitive electronics and since I live in a small more rural town, we are subject often to surges, spikes, power outages, lightning strikes, etc. No winter ever has fewer than 10 complete outages, for example.

I have had equipment blown by the lousy electric service they get away with selling here. So I've purchased this unit to 'condition' the power, prevent the surges, spikes, under and over voltages, etc. It seems to be doing the job, although winter hasn't arrived. I'll post a supplemental review after this winter's done its worst.

What I do like: clean, totally quiet, no hum, competence. What I don't like: the incredibly bright blue lights on the front panel. It's in my bedroom and I've had to place filtering material over each light so it doesn't keep us up. Nice feature: two amber lights which aim downward so you can light up the controls of other equipment you might have. I like that those lights can be turned off completely. It could use a dimmer switch for the other lights.
