Solid product, check that you buy from an Authorized Dealer, October 13, 2009
This review is from: Panamax M8-HT-PRO 8-Outlet Power Line Conditioner and Surge Protector (Electronics)
Great product and comes with cables included. Check the Panamax website for which internet dealers are "authorized" so that they will honor the $5 million warranty for equipment that is connected to this thing. From what I understand, Panamax will honor the warranty on the actual surge protector, but may not honor the warranty for what's connected to it unless you buy through the right dealer.
I wish the outlets were spaced a bit more for some of my large adapters, but I still get almost everything on there anyways.

Top-quality home theater surge suppressor, July 19, 2010
This review is from: Panamax M8-HT-PRO 8-Outlet Power Line Conditioner and Surge Protector (Electronics)
This surge suppressor is expensive, but it provides unique protection against any voltage irregularity. The usual surge protection components are present - MOVs, inductors and capacitors. However, this unit also protects against under-voltage (brown-out) by disconnecting power to the load when voltage drops below a threshold of about 90V. It also disconnects the load during sustained over-voltage at about 140V. I've actually seen it cut power from my equipment during a couple brown-outs, while other devices plugged directly into the wall remained on. There is an "unsafe voltage" indicator which lights when this happens, and the relay makes an audible clicking noise when switching. I'm not aware of any other floor unit on the market right now that offers this capability.
Panamax claims that this device monitors the condition of its MOVs, and if they are damaged by surges, power is disconnected from the equipment, rather than just leaving everything unprotected. Fortunately, I have not been able to test this function, but if it works, it's another major improvement over other surge suppressors.
Performance specs are very good, such as UL1449 let-through rating of 330V for all modes. Coax signal line protection is rated at 75V with <0.5dB signal loss. It is bi-directional and works perfectly with my FIOS set-top box without altering existing attenuation. This unit also acts as a line conditioner, filtering noise from AC power.
Overall, this surge suppressor is pricey, but it provides the best protection you can get for your home theater equipment.

Surge Protector, January 31, 2010
This review is from: Panamax M8-HT-PRO 8-Outlet Power Line Conditioner and Surge Protector (Electronics)
This surge protector and line conditioner is welcome product and works great. Be careful if you have a Direct TV DVR receiver and plug your wall telephone wire into this unit and then run the out line to your receiver. It is possible that you will experience a loss of phone reception.
