The product arrived on time and in a package consistent with the advertisement. Note: there is a disclaimer on the box that states the warranty is only "recognized" if the product was purchased through an authorized Panamax dealer. Not sure if Amazon is just that, but if you are going to purchase this Panamax PF then you will need to research that if you are concerned about this issue. It would have been good to know this up front prior to purchase. Probably would not have changed my mind, but at least know it up front. Install was easy, great template for the cut out required. Also, you will require a UL rated "typically blue or metal for outdoors power connection box" for the back side of the outlet portion. Remember to get this box if you plan on installing right away. Overall, great product, price is right, and it installs easily. Mounted behind a 50" plasma. Mounted flush and comes with an all import right angle plug to reduce the space requirement behind the TV.

I got this to insall behind my Plasma and also run HDMI and Coax cable through it. It's a GREAT product, and very good value. However, you MUST BE PREPARED for installing this as this is definitely not plug&play. Specially you need to make sure to get the right Carlon BOX to put this in a drywall. I didn't order that and I thought it fits to regular power boxes but it does NOT! Make sure you get Carlon SC200DV otherwise it's a bitch to install. Also, I wish Panamax made HDMI connectors for it, but they don't.

Overall, GREAT fit and finish, very professional look after install, and great value. Just make sure you do your homework before order/install.

i had really high hopes for this in-wall unit, and don't get me wrong, it's worth the purchase, but the setup and the way it mounts in the wall/ceiling isn't too great! keep in mind that i'm a professional a/v tech/dj/tech geek and have been for 25+ yrs. i bought this to install in my ceiling - right behind my projector - which i did, and it installs just like any other reconstruction box does, but i had to modify it a bit to make it stay in the ceiling properly. having to place a double gang reconstruction box behind it, then this on top presents some issues. i also have issues with the fact that the keystone plugs don't stay in, which is a pain when it pops back into the box while you're trying to adjust it. it's also very tight with all the wiring inside the box as well. it's still worth the purchase, but could be better perfected by simply coming with its own reconstruction box attached to, or able to connect to the front frame. the only other issue i have with it is that it doesn't come in white or black - and only the color you see - a sort of bronzy color [doesn't match modern decor well] - but the plate could always be spray painted to match your ceiling or decor.

This surge protector is a must have if you have a slim LED TV. The install was no more complicated than installing a new box and outlet. The low profile box as well as the plug provided allowed us to mount our Samsung LED TV and it is less than two inches from the wall. Surge protection is a must have for a $2000 purchase and this product has the best track record for what it provides. The plug/adapter center on the right side of the box was nice, but we didn't use that at all.

Pros: Ease of installation and protection of high end electronics.

Cons: Didn't come with a dual gang outlet and we didn't need the extra port.

The product as offered is over kill. It had a bunch of things I did not need in the kit. The box and mount for other connections? I was unable to find just the surge protection component. It did fit in a regular two gang box. The holes for the cover were not standard to fit under a two gang box cover available at DYI stores. All in all I made it work. But not a great package.

After all the planning and work I'd done to make sure our TV room was wired properly, I was mortified to realize I'd left out a fairly important item - surge protection for my TV! Since my A/V equipment is installed in a closet 30 feet from the TV and I'd gone to great lengths to make sure no one ever saw any wires at all, I knew I needed an unusual surge protection solution.

I began looking and this product appeared to be perfect. Installing the product was straightforward and, even though I didn't use any of the keystone jacks or other options for the right side of the unit, I can tell it would be simple to do so. The only concern I have is this: the box says you must use an electrical box with the outlet (makes sense) and old work box Carlon B114R will work. I couldn't find that box anywhere so I tried standard 1 & 2 gang old work boxes, which did not work. The outlet is too deep to fit into the boxes' tapered backs. And online photos of the B114R make it look exactly like a traditional single gang box. So I found myself needing to improvise - not the first time.

Hopefully it'll protect my TV if it ever needs to but the outlet is well-built, easy to install, and priced right for a speciality item like this. (Similar items from other manufacturers seem far too expensive to me.)
