The tire rolls well and is very, very tough.

If there is a lighter, faster, stronger and overall better street tire for 26" wheels, I have yet to find it.

Still kinda new to me as I have put only few hundred miles on it so far with no flats!

This tire is different from the gimmicks--this tire is an Authentic road tire that just happens to be made in 26x1.25 size.
This is the folding (240g easier hills) version.
Its an option for Rivendell Atlantis and other mountain-or-road bikes.
Matching equipment is an XC/City (no rear spring) bike, Wheelsmith DB14 spokes, DT Alloy (stronger than brass) spoke nips, and Velocity Synergy 26" rims, which is all for easier/faster hills.
This tire is also brilliant on a recumbent.
I use it for my front tire where the lighter weight is most helpful. See also the review for the wire bead version.
Note:
The natural rubber sidewalls make for an excellent cushy ride (which also makes for a speed benefit); however, natural rubber can get dirty or dry out. Just spray the new tires with automotive vinyl polish or SC Johnson's Pledge (oil-free version in the yellow can) to seal it. This is only necessary about once per year. So far, after 2 years, these tires still look new just by cleaning them with Pledge. In "2 chains" worth of miles, there have been no flats.
Note2:
This tire needs a longer than usual break-in period before it reaches full road speed. Perhaps this is because its so durable? After about 90mi worth of wear (when new), the speed starts to pick up, going from pleasantly fast to OMG!!
Note3:
Folding bead tires take a bit less air pressure, which is why I used this on front and the identical wire bead version on back. That was probably unnecessary, but I'm very picky and the system is working nicely. For my friend's hybrid bike, we removed the race tires that had destructed and used the 700c-28mm (exact same width as these 1.25) Pasela Tourguard with folding on front and wire on back. What a surprise! Although slightly heavier than a race tire, he was going much faster than before--funny looking bike spotted in roadie pace line. ;) He also reports zero flats. These tires work.

I am quite happy with this tire. Still kinda new to me as I have put only few hundred miles on it so far with no flats! Very good quality. Thread pattern has felt good for traction, control & ride quality. I have pumped them to the full 95psi specification.

I just started my fifth set of the Panaracer Pasela TourGuard RF26125-LX-18K folding tires. I ride a full suspension mountain bike to work and back, commuting about 30 miles a day. Very few flats and the tires last over 2,000 miles on the rear and more on the front. I run the folding both front and rear, and I keep them inflated to their rated max of 100 P.S.I. without issue. As a 200 lbs. plus Clydesdale class rider, I can tell you that there is no problem with the folding tire on the rear, even with disc brakes.

Panaracer Pasela Tourguard 26 x 1.25 Black/Tan Kevlar Bead

At an average of 240 grams (folding version, 26" x 1.25") these tires are light and fast. They are excellent in the rain.

I have encountered one defective tire with a bad bead out of the 10 TG's I have purchased. Since I commute daily, I usually buy two sets at a time. In this case, the second set had been setting on the shelf for about five months since I had purchased it. Understandably, the bike dealer would not warranty the tire. However, a single call to Panaracer and a few days later I had a replacement! Based upon this response, I would say that Panaracer has excellent service and support. Panaracer makes very good tires at reasonable prices.

If you are looking for a light, fast & durable Aramid Belted Anti-Puncture tire, the Pasela TourGuard is an excellent choice. Wire bead model is available as well (300 grams @ 26" x 1.25"), but the weight increases about 60 grams (2.1 oz.) and it is difficult to carry in a Camelback. : )

If there is a lighter, faster, stronger and overall better street tire for 26" wheels, I have yet to find it.

The Panaracer Pasela Tourguard tires have performed amazingly well. They have out lasted any previous manufacturer's brand tire I've used and there's been a bunch of them with fewest flats. I've got over 2,500 miles and they are still in good condition would be willing to bet they will last another 500+ miles and I've not even had one flat with them.
