2.0 out of 5 stars What has happened to telephones recently?, January 18, 2004

UPDATE: 6-09. I wrote this review 5 years ago!!!! This phone has been around for at least 6 years and is "long in the tooth". If you are looking for a cheap, 2 line phone without many bells and whistles and you have no problems that the technology is "old hat" this is not a bad choice. This phone has worked without a hitch for the past 5 years and it is now being used as a kitchen wall phone. My main complaint is that the screen is dark, small and difficult to read. It has been replaced by a 2 line corded/cordless AT&T model AT&T TL76108 5.8GHz TWO-LINE Digital Corded/Cordless Answering System (Titanium and Metallic Charcoal). You may want to read my review of this new system! (Wandrwoman)

As for my original 5 year old review of this Panasonic phone, I am sticking with it!

REVIEW WRITTEN 1-04: So corded phones have now joined the ranks of junk "consumable" electronics along with hair driers and toaster ovens? In my search for a decent 2 line corded phone with caller ID, I purchased and with great disappointment returned 2 AT&T models (once the gold standard of all phones!)and finally, several months into the process, exhausted and desparate, settled on this Panasonic. Unlike the AT&Ts, all of the features work, but there is no mute, no reserve power supply (for shame!)and the LED screen is impossible to read from any angle except from directly above. I do not recommend this or any other two line phone. The situation is pathetic!Panasonic 2-Line Integrated Phone with Call Waiting Caller Id (KX-TSC14B)

1.0 out of 5 stars So so., November 24, 2005

This review is from: Panasonic 2-Line Integrated Phone with Call Waiting Caller Id (KX-TSC14B) (Office Product)
I was looking for a coreded phone that I could plug my standard headset into. I went to Staples to see which phones had this capability, and the Panasonic KX-TSC14B did, and at a reasonable price. Please note that I did not require a 2-line phone; it seems that all phones with a headset jack (at least at Staples) were 2-line phones.

I purchased the phone and was disappointed. For some reason it made my headset sound very hollow. As the previous reviewer noted, there is no mute button -- I guess I should have realized that sooner. The other annoying "feature" was if I had the headset plugged in, the calls were always routed to the headset; even when I picked up the handset! I could not figure out how to change this behavior.

I returned the phone and started my search again. I found a company that makes great Home Office phones... Aastra. I HIGHLY recommend their phones... or at least the PT-470 which I wound up purchasing. They also make 2-line phones. Do a Google search for "Aastra".

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic 2-Line Integrated Phone with Call Waiting Caller Id (KX-TSC14B) (Office Product)
I bought this phone for the quality of it's speakerphone function. It has proven to be as reliable as I had hoped. My company uses this phone and my experience with it there led me to this purchase.
