Product Description

The 16 GB P2 solid state memory card offers recording capacity comparable to and often greater than tape and disc-based media, but with no-moving-parts reliability and the benefits of an IT file-based workflow. Panasonic's P2 card is a PCMCIA compatible plug-in card based on ultra-reliable, solid-state memory, integrating four high-performance SD cards like those now used in digital still cameras, and packaged in a rugged, die-cast frame that weighs only 0.099 lbs (45 grams). This convenient card has four times the capacity and four times the transfer speed of a single SD card. The P2 card is reusable and connects instantly with laptops and major non-linear editing systems to eliminate the time-consuming task of digitizing. The re-usable P2 card is resistant to impact, vibration, shock, dust and environmental extremes including temperature changes.

2.0 out of 5 stars says incompatible card when I put the P2 card in the camera. Help., August 26, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic AJ-P2CO16RG 16GB P2 High Performance Memory Card for the AG-HVX200 Camcorder (Electronics)
I need to return this item and get another one, but not sure who or where to return it. For some reason I get a message in my Panasonic HVX 2OO that flashes in red "Incompatible Card" How can I return it? I have never had to make a return. Any help would be very appreciated. Thank you.

2.0 out of 5 stars P2 Card Cost - Panasonic Deal Breaker, February 17, 2009
This review is from: Panasonic AJ-P2CO16RG 16GB P2 High Performance Memory Card for the AG-HVX200 Camcorder (Electronics)
The cost of the P2 card eliminated the HVX-200A from the running - it's prohibitively expensive and considering the P2 has been on the market for a while and Sony is beginning to kick Panasonic's tail with the intro of XDCAM, Panasonic needs to do more than offer financing. Panasonic, wake up, take stock in the value of your camera and bring down the cost of the cards. I'm moving on.

3.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic are missing out., February 19, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a great product and a great Idea. I always hated tapes and their long capture process.

Yet this product is way too expensive. I'm sure this thing doesn't cost more than 50$ to make. It's a freaking PC Card. If they cut the price in half it would be reasonable. If Panasonic want to come out a cool company with the best prosumer camera on the market they should make its accessories nicely priced.

Aside from that, yeah we get rid of tapes, but you still have to buy tons of DVDs to burn all the footage and make an archive. At some point with no tapes as backup, your place on the hard drive is going to end.

All and all I like it. But I think 500-600 is a more reasonable price.
