Product Description

The Direct Cable for iPod is all you need to connect your iPod player to your head unit. The head unit will display iPod information, including artist name and album, and you can select iPod tracks and playlists directly from the head unit. Power is supplied to the iPod player from the head unit, so you can enjoy the vast amount of music on your iPod player while charging at the same time.

I purchased this cable to use with a Panasonic MXE CQ-C7203U CD player with MP3/WMA playback head unit and a new ipod. Imagine my surprise that the newest iPods aren't supported! Older ipods connect just fine, but when you attach a 5G nothing happens at all. This fact is not shown on any website, and I had to go through two levels of Panasonic tech support before I could even get a straight answer from them.

The cable itself is plenty long enough and very sturdy - if you have a 3G or 4G ipod, I'm sure its a great buy. Unfortunately, if you're planning to buy a new ipod, or you already have a 5G ipod video, you don't have a panasonic head unit in your future.

The cable would be great if it would work with the 5th Generation iPods. I have an iTouch and it will not work with that model, Does anyone know the cable i would need for model CQ-C7105U (headunit). Thanks

Having the iPod connected to my stereo is very handy. I just leave it in the glove box, the iPod turns off after the stereo turns off and turns on when the stereo turns on. It even remembers where it was in the last song! It keeps my iPod fully charged. On the stereo, you can scroll through all of the iPod menus. A very handy accessory. Its expensive, but totally worth it!!!
