What is the Cloud? |
Chances are, you've heard the words "cloud technology" lately. If you're not familiar with the concept, "Cloud" (also known as "hosted VOIP" in our case) refers to system functionality being hosted on the service provider's network instead of at your business. This model can give a small company all the benefits of a highly customized business phone system without a significant capital investment. Additionally, with cloud technology your service is protected even in the event of disaster. |

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic Cloud Business Phone System, KX-TGP551T04, Black, 1 Handset (VoIP/ SIP) (Office Product)
We purchased these phones with additional handsets for our small business. Setting them up on Panasonic Cloud was easy enough. The problem we ran into is that in all our calls the call quality is choppy and the words are broken up. We initially thought this was because of the Panasonic phones but it was our sonicwall router that caused the problem. Make sure you have a good quality router such as Cisco. I will say that the Panasonic Cloud service is bad compared to Onsip - we used both. The number of features and usability is terrible in Panasonic Cloud. Also, Panasonic lies on their marketing literature when it says this model only work with their Panasonic Cloud service. Our IT Engineer was able to switch this to a different VOIP service in an effort to fix the call quality issues. With that said, the phones themselves aren't bad. They're well priced and pretty easy to use once you get the hand of them.

Works with Asterisk,
This review is from: Panasonic Cloud Business Phone System, KX-TGP551T04, Black, 1 Handset (VoIP/ SIP) (Office Product)
I purchased this in the hope that other reviews were correct in that it's not actually tied to Panasonic's service despite the box indicating "Functions only with Panasonic Cloud Service", and thankfully it was true! The web interface allows configuration of up to eight SIP accounts. In addition to this, each of the six DECT handsets supported and the base unit can be assigned to these eight accounts, so it's possible to map each handset to one SIP account and still have one left over. Other features include NTP support (actually enabled by default) and the ability to backup and restore each handsets' phonebook to a text file, which is pretty handy too. Even the "voice mail" light will function correctly using Asterisk's "mailbox" keyword. All in all, a bargain for the functionality you get!

Great phones, affordable service,
This review is from: Panasonic Cloud Business Phone System, KX-TGP551T04, Black, 1 Handset (VoIP/ SIP) (Office Product)
I have been using Panasonic phones in my home for the past 10 years, so when I was in the market for a home office phone, the brand immediately came to mind. I stumbled across the Cloud Business Phone System and was intrigued- I didn't know that Panasonic was now a service provider. As it was, I was sharing my home line and office line and was really starting to contemplate getting another line strictly for business. Plus, my home line couldn't offer me the features that I really wanted in order to convey that my business was professional. So, I opted to try out the service and was pretty impressed. I got some great features like auto attendant and music on hold, I was able to route calls to my cell phone when I wasn't in the office (a huge help for a start-up company like mine)-plus the service is really affordable. I haven't had any problems with the hardware and I like the fact that you can add handsets as you need them- a nice thing for a growing company. Since it's a multi-line phone, I'm thinking of switching my home number to this service, but I'm waiting for a few months to make sure that it is truly seamless service- but so far, so good!
