The CT-27SF37 SuperFlat TV creates bright pictures and deep colors on its flat 27-inch-diagonal black screen. The SuperFlat system helps deter reflections, and the horizontal and vertical edge-correction systems help sharpen the edges of objects on screen. Stereo/SAP reception with dbx noise reduction helps give clear sound, and the Spatializer feature creates surround sound from just two front speakers. The two-tuner picture-in-picture allows for easy channel surfing and automatic color adjustment.
Horizontal and vertical edge-correction systems in the CT-27SF37 help sharpen the edges of objects on screen. They work in conjunction with the digital comb filter, dynamic sharpness control, and velocity-modulated scan to help produce crisp, clean images and reduce the effects of video noise.
The twin-dome sound system combines high-quality audio (10 watts x 2, 20 to 20,000 Hz at 8 ohms, 10 percent THD) with space-saving design. Dual-magnet speakers are located on either side of the picture tube to provide optimum stereo separation and make it easy for you to house your SuperFlat TV in a wall unit.
Artificial intelligence sound control automatically adjusts the volume level on your SuperFlat TV to prevent wide variations in sound among different TV stations and types of programming. Two built-in tuners with the useful picture-in-picture feature let you watch two TV programs simultaneously. You can swap the main screen and inset picture at the touch of a button. You can use this feature to search your favorite-channel memory or to scan available channels in the inset picture during channel search.
The Director lighted home theater remote with joystick is the only one you'll need to operate all components in your home theater entertainment system. With its lighted keypad, the remote can be easily located in darker environments. The Director remote can be programmed to control most current audio and video equipment, such as VCRs, DVD players, cable TV boxes, CD players, laser disc players, DBS receivers, stereo receivers, and audio cassette tape decks.
Panasonic provides a one-year warranty on parts (two years on the picture tube) and 90 days on labor.

I've been shopping for a 27" TV for my room to watch DVD movies in letterbox format. I've compare picture quality between the Sony Wega and Toshiba. The Panasonic comes out ahead of the pack. They all have 3 line comb filter, but the Sony only have 500 lines across compare to Toshiba and Panasonic which has 700 lines. Which the CT27SF37 has a clearer picture.

Two bad tubes within 25 months. Panasonic and Sears washed their hands clean on the second time saying the 2 year tube warranty start from original date of purchase. I will never buy Panasonic again. I had a Sony that would not quit after 20 years. All Sears can say is you should have bought the extended warranty. Never again!!!

Great tube two years ago 2001. Best overall picture quality between Sony 27" and Toshiba 27". I have had some convergence issues. But they have been fixed by a serivce center
