The CT-36D32's huge PanaBlack fine-pitch picture tube counteracts distracting ambient light, producing a picture with high contrast and accurate color reproduction. The set's component-video input delivers outstanding resolution and color accuracy from a variety of sources, including DVD players, by keeping the Y, PR, PB of video images intact during transmission. A three-line digital comb filter provides an accurate means of separating the color from the black-and-white in the television signal, effectively removing dot crawl and hanging dots, both horizontally and vertically. Horizontal Edge Correction sharpens the edges of objects in the picture. Horizontal edge correction works in conjunction with the dynamic sharpness control and velocity modulated scan to help produce clean, crisp television images and reduce unwanted video noise.
A surround sound feature simulates stereo sound, even from a monaural source. Bass, treble, and balance controls let you tailor the sound to your liking, while Artificial Intelligence Sound Control maintains an even sound level among different TV channels and types of programming.
Auto Programmable Scan Automatically tunes all available channels in an area or cable system into memory, and then lets you add or delete channels as you wish. Channel Labeling lets you assign an ID of one to four characters to 30 channels. Channel Banner captures information transmitted with each program and places it onscreen in a semi-transparent banner. Channel Lock and Game Guard let parents control television use and prevent games and other video sources from being displayed on the TV. With Channel Lock, unlocking a channel requires a user-programmed four-digit code. In addition to basic television controls, the set's lighted universal remote can operate most VCRs, cable boxes, and DVD players. Illuminated buttons make it easier to use in the dark.

Disappointed,

Great T.V. picture, and features, the first 11 months. Green color chip quit working the start of the eleventh month. That is the T. V. problem, now try to get it serviced if you do not live in a metropolitan area. Just try to get Panasonic to authorize a repair business to pick up your T.V. from your home for in shop repair.(They can not be repaired in your home.) That took one week, now the repair shop is waiting for parts from Panasonic so they can repair it. My T.V. went on the fritz 3 weeks ago, and it is still in the shop. I am using a Panasonic authorized repair shop. This problem is not with the repair shop, but with Panasonic and there customer service.

As a midpriced 36inch TV, this model really delivers. Excellent picture, easy set up and operation. I have been very pleased.
