4.0 out of 5 stars Great Light but...
The light from the bulb is excellent, the warm light feels like day light, while the Verilux daylight really feels too strong on the blue spectrum to me, at least I don't see the same color under the sun light.

The Panasonic bulb is great except it takes a while to reach full brightness(like 20 sec. or so). and it starts very dim. The 15w looks like a 20w. incandlescent...

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice bulb w/some flaws
We have used the EFG25E50 bulbs for years. The optional reflectors make a huge difference in the lighting effect. However, these bulbs could have been engineered better: they take several seconds to reach maximum brightness, the brightness deteriorates dramatically when the bulb is about to fail, and the 10,000 hours rated life is way off. Our longest lasting bulb was...

The 15w looks like a 20w. incandlescent for the first 5 sec. if you have not turned on the light for a while(10 minutes). which might annoy some people. Yet I don't have problem with other bulb flourscent light with such a long delay such as Verilux.

However, these bulbs could have been engineered better: they take several seconds to reach maximum brightness, the brightness deteriorates dramatically when the bulb is about to fail, and the 10,000 hours rated life is way off. Our longest lasting bulb was about 6,388 hours (7 hrs/day x 365 days x 2.5 yrs), and that's a generous estimate. Panasonic never responded to our inquiry. We still use them because they are nice and have come down in price.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Compact Flourescent replacement for globe bulbs, July 27, 2003

(REAL NAME)
I bought 5 of these at Home Depot to replace the 60 watt globe bulbs in my bathroom. I was really torn between these and another brand that was about half the price and had a rebate on top of that. However the Panasonic was definately the most attractive of the two with the smallest lowest profile base I have seen on any CF bulb. Also the Panasonic is truly the most globe shaped and once installed it's difficult to tell it's not an incandescent. The bulb turns on instantly with no flicker.

One thing that is kind of nice is that when you turn it on it starts at about 60% brightness then gradually brightens to full strength in about 20 seconds. It appears to put out a bit more light than the 60 watt incandescents I was replacing. The light is warm like an incandescent. The fact that it uses 75% less energy than a 60 watt incandescent is a real plus in a household where the kids like to leave every light in the house on.

What with Southern California Edison and Gray Davis charging 300% more for the same electricity from two years ago, every little bit helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good lamp, but takes time to warm up!, August 19, 2005
The market now is flooded with these types of lumps. I bought more than 6 moths ago and it is still alive. It does save electricity. I put this one in the room, where I have very poor air-conditioning during the summer season and since it emits less heat I noticed the difference. I would highly recommend this product.

There is one downside, which is really not an issue for me personally, but the buyers should know about it. It does take time to warm to reach full 25W power. This is why I gave it 4 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Happy, June 7, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I had 5 of those globe lights in my bathroom above the sink and 1 burned out. I tried all over to buy a replacement one but to no avail. I was so happy to learn that when I went on Amazon.com I was able to find a place that sold them and was very impressed with how they packaged it to send and also how fast it came.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay, March 6, 2007
These are bulky, yet do last a while. HOME DEPOT sells a six pack for much cheaper, so I recommend you check theirs out first.
