The Panasonic DMC-F2 is designed with simplicity in mind, without overlooking the importance of style and performance. This 10.1-megapixel camera has an impressive 4x optical zoom. When your subject is far away use the 7.8x Extra Optical Zoom when shooting at 3 megapixels. In the Auto Scene Mode, advanced detection functions work automatically and simultaneously to optimize your settings, making it easier than ever to take beautiful photos every time. It includes Intelligent ISO Control to detect subject movement, Face Detection AF/AE to detect faces in the frame and Intelligent Scene Selector to detect scene conditions.

The DMC-F2 also records video at 640 x 480, at a smooth 30fps. The 2.5-inch 230,000-dot resolution LCD is designed so the user can clearly see the subject while shooting still photos and videos. I had to buy this with no reviews just faith in the Panasonic name for high quality precision items, and am happy to give it the first 5 star rating for the next customer. So far so good - just received it and have taken a couple dozen inside shots, some with flash and some without. I'm amazed at the clarity in low light situations using the flash, which my Kodak C190 12mp couldn't handle. Easy to change from auto to forced flash or no flash. Zooms smooth as silk - feels like a much higher-priced camera. Very small with big LCD. True to life color, not orange tint like Canon. 12mp overwhelms my old well-loved photo program so I was happy to find a high quality 10mp which is all I will ever need. Will review again in a couple of weeks after I've had time to give it a good workout. 300 shots on a battery charge will be a bonus, after having to change AAs out after a few shots on Kodak. I've been through Fuji, a couple HPs, two Canons, and 3 Kodaks which all 3 ended up with broken battery covers rendering them useless. I have high hopes for this Panasonic, haven't read the book yet to see what all it can do. :o)

Wife loves this camera. We already had one in black that is great! Now the black one is mine

and she has this pink one. Both Lumix cameras we have are great, awesome photos, tons of settings,

and very user friendly with some practice.
