I also ordered this case for the DMC-ZS3. It has shortcomings that exceed its advantages. Overall, the case is nicely constructed and the sides are nice hard covers that should offer decent "bump" protection.

HOWEVER, You should only insert the camera so the lens side is closest to the opening as this ensures the buttons and dials on the camera are protected and that you are not pushing or turning them when you pull the camera from the case. BE VERY CAREFUL to handle the camera only from the edges, as when inserting it, you do not want to put your fingers on the lens cover. The case itself is a very tight fit, but managable, however, the STRAP is too short. It only overlaps velcro to velcro by approximately 1/3 of an inch - not a reliable close. When strapped closed, there is a 3/4" strip of uncovered velcro on the outside of the case, that will attract dirt etc. Just a bad design. The second issue it that when the camera is inserted, there is no good way to pack the short strap (necessary so you don't accidentally drop the camera) into the case. Part of it usually hangs out of the case, leaving a risk that the loop will hook on something as you are walking, and rip the camera out of the poorly sealed case.

Unfortunately for me, I got the case before the camera was delivered and tossed the packing, so I will keep it, but look for a better case.

This case fits the Lumix DMC-ZS3 very snugly -- the camera cannot move around. It is thoroughly protected by the hard case, and has a Velcro closure strap that fits across the top of the case to keep the camera inside. It is perfect in my mind -- all the other cases for this camera I have found are either too bulky or loose fitting. It easily fits on a belt for handy carrying. Perfect for travel and hiking, since it is so lightweight and sturdy.

The case is too small to properly fit the camera. I wish I had not bought it and will ask to return it.

I was disappointed with this camera case since it was recommended to go with the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3. It is a tight fit and doesn't slip is or out of the case without effort. I don't know if it offers enough protection either since the sides of the camera are exposed. I would return it but don't want the hassle. Amazon shouldn't recommend this case for this camera.

This case is poorly designed. The velcro strap only covers about a third of the velcro area. Any product designer would have obviously seen this and it could have been easily corrected. Perhaps the case was designed for a smaller camera.

Having said that, the case is snug and for an already bulky Lumix ZS3 it doesn't add as much bulk as other cases for this camera, so I will be using it even if it's poorly designed.

Love my new camera and extra battery but the case isn't built well. When I first got I was impressed with the thin design of the case along with the double velcro belt strap. After one short month though, the stitching started coming loose on the strap that attaches to the belt. It really should have been double or tripple stitched with the design they have or better yet should have been designed differently all together. The problem I see is all of the weight of the camera hangs on the strap at the top and it is not attached to the case with durabillity in mind. My suggestion is don't waste you're money on this one.

This is an okay case. The camera has to be forcefully inserted to get it to fit into this case. Had I have seen the fit for myself I would probably have gone another route. It seems to protect the major areas of the camera, while looking aesthetically pleasing. I just think it should have fit better. I will probably end up transporting in a small zip style case instead as it will allow the carry of a battery as well and you do not have to wrestle getting your camera in and out. Just my .02 cents.

I like to carry my camera in a case on my belt and this case does the job very well.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 is a snug fit and works well.
The case has enough padding to protect the camera.
I'm happy with the purchase.

Sent it back. It did not adequately cover the Panasonic ZS3 (in our opinion).

At 3" x 4" this case is too small to protect the Panasonic Z53 I just purchased. The camera is 4" long and sticks out the end of the case. There is no protection if you happen to drop the camera (and why do you think I just bought a Panasonic Z53?).
