When viewing Toy Story 3, this player performed flawlessly: brilliant colors, great sound and decent user interface.

However, this player is connected to my Toshiba LCD TV via HDMI, and digital connectivity is where it falls flat:

* Using a hardwired ethernet connection locks the player and also crashes my router. I've tried this with 3 different routers, with the same result. When watching Netflix, the player usually works just fine, but the connection interferes with other hardwired connections. I have a rock solid connection with a PC AND Mac that are connected to the same router as the Panasonic DMP-BD755. As soon as I plug the player into the router, both the PC and the Mac lose their ethernet connectivity. A few minutes after I disconnect the DMP-BD755, network access returns. At first, I thought my router failed, but after watching this happen with 2 brand new replacement router models, I realized that it was the blu-ray player that was causing the problems, NOT the routers.

* When watching anything from this player, if we switch inputs on the TV from the blu-ray player to another source, the unit completely locks-up and needs to be rebooted by resetting the power.

* There is no Toslink/optical out, which is a must for my situation. My wife likes having the sound come straight from the TV, because she doesn't like dealing with a surround sound receiver. Having an optical out would allow us to watch movies both ways.

For the price, this is a decent player, however I've seen blu-ray players for $10 more that seem to be more stable, have better/less clunky menus and also have an optical out to boot. I expected this kind of quality from a lesser brand/model, so this purchase is getting returned.

I bought this unit two months ago for my mom and it's the biggest piece of trash on the market. Do your research (which, unfortunately, I didn't). A quick search on the Internet shows everyone is having problems with this unit - now we are too.

Neflix doesn't work in Canada and may not work anywhere else either. We updated the firmware, if anything, it made everything worse. Tried to play a blu-ray last night, the machine locked up solid. Couldn't eject the disk, couldn't power it off - nothing.

In the end, the only way to regain control was to physically pull the power cord, drain the power (hard reset) and then plug it back in. At that point, it then played the disk with no issue.

So, if you like the idea of having to unplug your unit when it locks up - this is the unit for you!

Avoid like the plague, hundreds of negative posts on the Internet, all describing the very same symptoms.

The biggest disaster for us? We can't seem to find the receipt which means we're out $100

I, too, had this Blu-ray player cause computer network problems. I spent hours troubleshooting on my own and with my cable internet provider trying to find out why my computer network stopped working at my home. Finally, I noticed that the unit was frozen with "bye" on the display. Unplugging and plugging it in restored my computer network.

The unit frequently freezes and won't respond to anything, including the power button. The only way to fix the issue is by unplugging it and plugging it back in (which also corrects the network problem).

I got this blu-ray player from Disney Movie Rewards. I saved up my points to get it for like 2 years. I'm sorry I didn't check the reviews on it before I cashed in thousands of points on this machine. Same complaints as the other posts. When I'm watching Netflix sometimes the player freezes up, the screen goes black and won't respond to anything except unplugging the player from the wall. It has also frozen a few times while I'm watching a Blu-ray, the screen goes black then goes to the main menu after pressing the exit button on the remote.
