The picture and sound from this player are excellent. Picture even looks good on an old Magnavox TV using the s-video connection. It's hard to believe that DVD players of this quality only cost a couple of hundred dollars.On other sites there are complaints about the speed of the carousel. Those complaints are valid. It can sometimes take so long for the carousel to open that you wonder if you actually pressed the button. Don't lose the remote! The player is almost useless without it. I docked a star because of the remote and carousel issues. I recommend this player for picture and sound, but if you're the impatient type keep looking. My unit was made in Singapore, not Japan, if that matters to you. |
