The Panasonic DVD-RV20 DVD player offers advanced virtual surround sound (VSS) so that consumers who don't have the room or the budget for a full-blown home theater audio system can still enjoy superb audio. Advanced VSS creates a simulated surround sound effect, downmixed from either a 5.1-channel or 2- channel Dolby Digital soundtrack. The dialogue enhancement mode boosts the volume of the center channel when playing a Dolby Digital disc, so that the dialogue doesn't become drowned out by the left and right speakers. Other audio features include analog-audio outputs, as well as an optical digital-audio output, for both Dolby Digital and DTS surround sound.
Every Panasonic DVD player features high-speed, five-step, smooth-motion scan. This feature provides crystal-clear forward and reverse scan in five speeds. At the highest setting, the unit scans at 100 times normal speed. The Panasonic DVD-RV20 also offers icon-based onscreen programming, title/chapter preview (with marker function), still frame, a repeat play mode, and a quick-start mechanism, which begins playback in five or six seconds. A basic remote control is included. It also includes a warranty for one year on parts and 90 days on labor.

This DVD player is a good buy for the price. I purchased this item quite some time ago, and it has definitely lived a long life life living with 5 guys who watch DVD's all day. It has great clarity, and the VSS sound is great for those of us who can't afford Dolby Digital sound. Overall it is worth the price because Panasonic is a good brand. I am satisfied, and that is not easy sometimes!

This has been a wonderful purchase. I've enjoyed watching many DVD movies with no problems. It is easy to hook up for those not so knowledgable about hooking up electronics. It provides a great picture. The remote is very easy to use. My only complaint is that in the store the display said the remote was backlit but it is not. Other than that, I highly recommend this player. You'll never watch a VHS tape again.

Over All, The DVD Player Is OK, But It has It's Faults. For example, #1. It Doesnt Support MP3 CD's, #2. It Doesn't Read CD-R's. #3. It Doesnt Play Video Disc's. It Says That It Supports Video CD's, Yeah Of Course It Plays DVD's but It Doesn't play video disc's burned to a CD-R. I Would Not reccommend this DVD player to anyone. It Doesn't Do much of anything.
