Dead after 13 months,
By A Customer
This review is from: Panasonic DVD-RV32 DVD Player (Electronics)
I'm very disappointed with the quality of this unit. First, only after only a few months of use, the color tone of the picture would change every 20 minutes or so. It would "jump" into a darker/color richer tone. I never had the time to have this fixed. Now after 13 months the unit stopped playing altogether, displaying the error code "F07". When you search the web you will find this is not an uncommon issue with the Panasonic players, and it requires to be serviced by a professional. It is just not money you want to spend after using it for just one year. A big thumb down and I will not be buying a Panasonic again.

I've had this DVD player for about 5 years and I've had no trouble with it. It was one of the first DVD players to play DVD-Rs. The only reason i stopped using it was because I got an HD TV and needed an upconversion DVD player.

Other than skipping a bit on DVD-Rs, this was a great player until I got the dreaded H02 Error. I later found out from the web that this is common for Panasonic players. I read that it costs around $80 to fix. Come on! I can get a brand new player for that. And I did!
Now I have a slim little Sony DVPNS725P Progressive-Scan that plays all my DVD-Rs great.Hopefully it will last more than a year and a half.

Awesome player, very durable,

Had this player since brand new in 2002. Used quite frequently. Now, in 2009, after 7 years of abuse, it finally went south with its H07 error. I plan on fixing it and continuing to use it. They don't make DVD players this durable anymore, and I refuse to dispose of something of this quality. I will stick with Panasonic players from here on out after this one finally gives up the goods forever.

Solid unit that lasted 5+ years,

I've had this unit for 5+ years (I think it was about 7) with no issues, up until today. I got the HO7 error, but after this long I can't complain.

I bought this about 1.5 years ago, and from the get-go it would glitch on really bright events onscreen, like explosions. Now, even though I have rarely used it during the time I have owned it, I got the H07 error. This means that the motor has seized, so I have to trash it. Please do not buy this DVD player.

I've had this player for more than 6 years now. It died with the H07 error, but still I am satisfied with its performance. Ive owned a sony, and several philips and the image quality and features is on par to the Sony, and sometimes even better. The Sony died on me twice and didnt have as many features.
I think the reviews here are not being fair to the unit. There are people complaining about the unit dying after 5-6 years of use!!

Got this as a gift 4 years ago, now I have a piece of junk with an HO7 error (bad motor). It will cost more to fix it than to just buy a new dvd player. My son got an Apex dvd player at the same time 4 years ago and it still works fine.

Purchased in 2002 but used only last 3 years til now(Feb 2010)
Excellent picture and sound - well built - lots of special features Plays all my rented DVDs and home videos burned on DVD-Rs Recommended if you can find one used in good condition Negatives features Large footprint - remote could be better (lots of tiny buttons) Read that common H07 error can be fixed with oil on the inside spindle .................................................................................................. |
