Excellent choice to replace conventional light bulbs,

This review is from: Panasonic EFT28E28 Capsule Collection 28W Compact Fluorescent Lamp (T Shape) (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you are looking for a flouerescent light bulb to replace traditional light bulbs around your house, this is the best choice I've found so far.The bulb is about the same width as a standard bulb, but it is a bit longer, so it may not fit in every device that takes standard bulbs. It does, however, fit in my lamp, which makes me happy. The best part about this bulb is the light it produces. It is very bright for a compact fluorescent, but it doesn't have the super-white color that is typical of fluorescent lights. The key to selecting a CF light bulb that produces good light is to look for a 2800K bulb. This one is. Most of the other bulbs on amazon are 5000K bulbs, which produce a very bright white light that looks too fluorescent. In Panasonic bulbs, you can tell if the bulb is 2800K or 5000K by looking at the second number in the model name. If the second number is 28, its a 2800K bulb. If the second number is 50, its a 5000K bulb. The first number indicates the wattage. Thus, this bulb is a 28 watt, 2800K bulb. Panasonic has a number of other 2800K bulbs, but it doesn't look like Amazon sells them. Check out www.panasonic.com, select consumer products, then building products, and then lighting for a complete list of all the Panasonic CF bulbs.

something seems wrong,

I purchased these for our condo complex. It's the exact same part number but for some reason the new bulbs are much much bluer than the old ones. I have no idea why but it is a very noticeable difference.

Excellent bulb for that great "tube light" feel!,

This bulb is awesome.
Before reading the other reviews, you should read the one by [Martin Anderson "Martin"] - he explains the model number to the color of light relation well. His review is not for this item, maybe Amazon replaced the model number after he reviewed, but the logic holds. So, by the same logic, this bulb, "EFT28E50", produces brilliant white light, at 5000K (also known as cool white). If you are looking for "warm white" light - something that can go with other incandescent lamps in the room - then you want a model ending in 28, for 2800K. Just as FYI, 5000K means the light an object would porduct when heated to 5000 Kelvin, or about 8,540.33 degrees Fahrenheit. Similarly, 2800K is 2800 Kelvin, or 4,580.33 degrees Fahrenheit, about half as hot. The hotter the object is, the more bluish it appears. So, in all, I wanted a "tube light" - the long, fluorescent lightbulbs seen in offices and schools - to light up the entire room, with minimal shadows, and be efficient about it. This one does just the job. The best part is, any torcherie stand-lamp would be good enough for this bulb, so you don't have to mount things (like a standard fluorescent lamp assembly) on the walls. Overall, if you are looking for a fluorescent lamp in bright/cool/5000K white light, this is awesome. Just FYI: the builbs work great, but are really delicate - a very short drop when the bulb was still in the box completely crashed the entire thing.
