A great buy with reasonable price. The direction says you can use it after applying mascara. But because the heat this curler delivers is pretty strong, you'd lose almost all mascara afterwards. So usually I use it before applying mascara, and use it in combination with Shu Uemura eyelash curler. (I don't think that using this heated eyelash curler alone would curl your lash too well).) Anyway, the heat makes the lash stay curled all day. As far as I have tried so many heated eyelash curlers in an attempt to make my lash stay curled, I think this one is the best pick in terms of cost, design and function.

Best curler for Asian lashes,

After A LOT of experimenting, I've found that this is the best product for my Asian lashes--even better with a coat of mascara on. Using the Shu Uemura manual curler or Sephora heated curler on my lashes prior to mascara doesn't work because my lashes straighten out before the mascara dries. But I've found if I heat this product up slightly (not all to full strength by any means), my lashes maintain curl all day. Like hair, the first coat of mascara (some lengthening product) is like styling gel and then afterwards I add another coat of mascara (something that doesn't smudge and volumizes) as my hair spray. It's the closest I've come to the looks in magazines without fake lashes and touch ups!

I had read a few good reviews of this eyelash curler and it had been recommended by a gal on a beauty discussion board I belong to, so I purchased it. My experience is that it is OK. It takes a long time to actually curl the lashes once you figure out how to. Perhaps because I have staight-as-a-board eyelashes, but the curl doesn't seem to last. It sits rarely used in my beauty drawer.
