The guy below is right. The blades are so far down it won't cut anything but really long hairs. How could this make it through any product test? I tossed mine in the garbage.

It's not just that the blade is so low in the trimmer (which it is), it's that the trimmer is short, fat and stocky. It's huge. Who is this target market with nostrils the size of a billiard ball that this thing is supposed to fit up? Only an idiot would design such a model. Whoever is getting paid in product testing needs to be fired.

I have used the Panasonic ER411NC model with great satisfaction for the past 4 years. The ER411NC models lasted about a year each with moderate usage. I've been very happy with their ability to deal with medium-length hair. Sure, there was a bit of the burning smell, but who cares when the gadget does what it's supposed to do -- i.e., cut hair.

This time, I thought I'd try the sleeker looking ER416KC. A big mistake! The blade is so far inside that it hardly cuts any hair longer than half an inch. Don't waste your money on it, and go with the tried and tested ER411NC model instead.
