O.K. you can buy cheap batteries,but not for This razor. they have a nipple thats about 3/8 " long that fits up into the razor

you cannot use conventional battries

in this razor

I love my little razor, but based upon Amazon description (not the manufacturer's description) I felt that I had ordered a razor with rechargable batteries. Unfortunately, the device requires you to go buy replacements Lithium batteries every couple of months. This is a direct conflict with what Amazon's "Chris" product reviewer says on the page.

Despite the extra expense you'll have from buying replacement Lithium batteries (not cheap!), it is a great shaver. I have a coarse beard and I get a very clean shave out of this guy, and it packs easily for travel. Very well made.

I purchased this razor to use while traveling. It is light weight, cordless, and uses Li batteries with a long charge. Sure, it doesn't give as clean and quick a shave as my everyday razor, but it is great for what it is . . . a travel razor.

This shaver was given to me as a gift and since I first used it, it replaced my everyday razor. This razor is definetly worth is value. If you have sensitive skin and want a close shave, then this is a must have!

I like this razor a lot. It cuts pretty well, nice and tight the way I like it. The fact that it's water proof means you can shave in the shower to get an even closer shave. It also makes cleaning a cinch. Also, the battery life on this baby is awesome. Although I am Asian and I don't have a full beard to content with. I do shave a every morning and ever since I got it 2.5 years ago, I'm still on the same set of lithium batteries.

The razor offers a close shave, can conveniently be used wet or dry, and can be rinsed with liquid soap to clean it. All in all very nice. My only complaints are that the razor is a little heavier than expected, which is inconvenient for a travel razor, and I had thought that it came with rechargeable lithium batteries. No, they are disposable lithium batteries. Still, they should be good for 50-60 uses between changing. The razor's compact form factor, wet/dry functionality, and close shave outweigh the negatives.

Well, the other reviews tell you that the shaver works great [compared to other battery operated shavers]. I agree.

My point is that one can buy Lithium batteries for about a dollar each. Google for LED flashlight reviews and you will find highg quality cheap Lithium batteries. Some of them were even tested and evaluated by the flashlight guys.

Does not shave as close as the pricer models and the battery's run our fairly quick, and no trimmer. The replacements battery's are lithium so expect to pay around $9 every 2 months. Very lightweight and compact, and great for a small carry-on the plane item or when space is at a premium.

I am a U.S. Marine and as such we spend a great deal of time training in the field and still must maintain a good clean shave every morning. Razors are great and certainly something I prefer above any electric razor battery and/or rechargeable alike. The drawback to razor blades is out in the field we don't always have the opportunity to shave using the comforts of running water from home and more importantly were usually short on time. Far too often we end up doing what is known as dry shaving and this can be rough even to the likes of Marines. Depending on how long we spend in the field we can get some serious razor bumps that get extremely uncomfortable with the mixture of sweat, heat and lack of running water.

This razor I would love to say solves all of that but let's be real it doesn't; on the other hand I am confident it is the next best thing. It is very durable which of course in my line of work as a Marine this is always good. It cleans up extremely well so when I come out of the field I can quickly clean it up with little to no mess. Above all I can get it wet which results is NO MORE DRY SHAVING. The shaving cream application can be a bit messy in the field but splashing some water on the face and using my canteen to pour on the shaver and I was in business.

I bought this product simply to take out in the field and the job it does is beyond my expectations. For those who are fellow infantrymen Army or Marine both trust me guys give this a try. A little more expensive than the 15 dollar Braun most of us have seen in the field but well worth the extra dollars spent. For an extended stay in the field (ie tour in Iraq) bring along some extra RECHARGEABLE batteries with a mini energizer recharger and charge them both up when you get an opportunity. Those that come with DO NOT recharge, purchase the rechargeable ones after these go bad and a mini adjustable energizer recharger works great, its small light and travels well.

Excuse me for being blunt but I have read some of the other reviews, this is a touch up razor designed for a quick shave for a short morning, a business trip or a 5pm meeting. Gentlemen, if you are using this as an everyday shaver and expect results of an electric razor I am sorry but you're an idiot. This is not a miracle worker, it does not have a built in alarm that wakes you up and starts the shaving process for you. It is an OUTSTANDING "TOUCH UP" shaver, leave a review for what it is.

If you were looking for a fast touch up to throw in the glove compartment or take on the road, this is a perfect item. If your an infantrymen and are trying to replace that double A battery opertated throw away shaver from Braun this is what you want.

Very nice shaver! Highly recommend! Portable, compact, easy to use. The best part is that you can clean it in a snap by just running water and adding a liquid soap. It cleans itself.

My son gave me the first one a while ago. I bought a second for my toiletries kit and a third as a gift.
