Best massager ever for sore neck and shoulders... even better than the Thumper II!,
By
This review is from: Panasonic EV2610K Easy Reach Dual Chopper Hand-Held Massager, Black/Silver (Health and Beauty)
I don't understand the previous reviewer's comments about not being able to use this unless sitting. I was lying down last night on my stomach and it worked great on my back! I like it better than my Thumper II because it's much easier for me to handle being more lightweight! I was never able to handle the Thumper on my own. And I love all the massage choices, especially the chopping motion... it's as if someone is pounding on my back, and it's so targeted that I can spend as much time as I want at one location without it itching as with most massagers! (I have an hour to an hour and a half commute to work each way, so my neck and shoulders get extremely sore.) I love it so much I bought another one for my boss, and am thinking of giving one to everyone in my family for Christmas!

I work at a high volume tech support department for Manufacturing software. I've been sitting at a computer terminal for over 10 years, and my shoulders as well as neck and back hurt continually even though my work station is ergonomic.I've tried percussion vibrators before that broke quickly from overuse, or just didn't "percuss" hard enough. This product can take pressure, and even has a pressure point feature for when you want to focus on a specific spot.

This is an excellent massager, with many benefits if used consistently. Initially, I didn't like this massager compared to the original Panasonic Easy Reach massager I had. When that faithful, and great working massager broke last year (after using it for nearly 7 years), I was dismayed to find it had been replaced with this one, which is very different in design from the original. But I bought this one anyway, and decided to give it a try. After trying to use it like the old one a few times, I was very disappointed. It was nothing like it, and much heavier, and harder to move around easily. But then, after setting this massager aside, and trying another new massager for a bit (and being disappointed), I decided to give this Panasonic one more try. I also decided to use the first massage setting at the initial slow speed, and to move, or hold it in one small circular area for one full cycle before moving it to another area. I did this when I was suffering from severe bronchitis, and it helped to encourage my body to cough out the mucus in my lungs every day. As a result, I felt much better after a couple of weeks of daily massaging. In addition, it stimulates my sluggish lymphatic flow under my arms, and in my chest, encouraging drainage. This has helped to alleviate the bad swelling in my upper torso and joints, and greatly decrease the edema in my legs. In addition, one full body massage can put me into a deep state of relaxation so that I can sleep much better. As a result, with regular massages, I am beginning to look, and feel much better as my body gets detoxified, and I get more healing sleep! There is a definite trick to using this massager effectively, however, and this is how I do it: I use the massager quite effectively by propping myself up on some pillows while lying down, then massaging one half of the back side of my body from neck to feet, and then going upward from feet to neck on the front of my body, especially concentrating on my sides and lower belly. After this, I turn over, and do the other side the same way. I also lay on my back, and put my ankles on my knees to get at my feet and lower body easier. When giving myself a long massage, though, I occasionally take breaks to allow the massager to cool off. This is because it tends to get very hot with long use, and to shut off on its own from this, and I don't want to ruin the unit. When I give myself massages, I might decide to use either the full series of strokes, or have learned how to use this a bit like my old Easy Reach massager by setting it to do just one rapid stroke, and then speeding it up even more with the double time button. Overall, this is a great massager. Yes, as other reviewers have mentioned, this massager is noisy, but I compensate for this by usually wearing a headset, and playing my favorite relaxing and uplifting music while pounding gently away at my ever-grateful body. It really does work well if given a chance, and after learning how too truly relax while using it to get the most benefit from it. I highly recommend it.

with some changes could be a lot better,
This review is from: Panasonic EV2610K Easy Reach Dual Chopper Hand-Held Massager, Black/Silver (Health and Beauty)
This massager had some good features but I returned it mainly because of the automatic programs on the massager. Just when the massager would feel like it was doing it's job, the program would go on to another mode. Very jumpy. A good point is there are many choices of sensations that are not automatic programs, but for me, most of them felt like "almost but not quite". I think the housing of the unit would not last very long; it felt a bit flimsy. So with some sturdier construction and some control of the sensations of the automatic program; this could be a great massager. I had a massager for over ten years I recently threw away because the cord was coming loose. If I knew I couldn't buy a replacement, I would have had the cord repaired.

I wanted a massager for a very long time and finally I made a decision to order one from amazon because it is absolutely hassle and worry free site for me to shop at. I found myself to be really liking the massager except for it's little noisiness and a bit heavy weight. But it's not a big deal for me. I love all the 7 massage options I have never seen in all other massagers. I normally spend most of my time sitting infront of computer all day long at work so it turned out to be really useful for me to help healing my stiffness on my neck and back. I would recommand this product.

I bought this massager for my husband who has back and leg pain. He had a Panasonic massager for 21 years that finally gave up the ghost, so we knew the brand was excellent. The programs included in the massager are especially helpful for neck and back which give him relief from the pain. The only drawback is the sound it makes--reminds him of the sounds in an MRI. Would definitely recommend it!

This product was exactly what I was looking for. I've been having shoulder pain for a while and nothing has seemed to help it at all. This massager seems to do the trick. It has several different functions, two programs, two speeds, and two levels of intensity. I don't like all the settings (the programs aren't my thing) but there are quite a few of the different function settings that I like. I have no doubt that anyone purchasing this will find at least one setting, speed, and intensity that s/he likes. The pointed tip is great for getting right to a problem area but certain settings also pulse out into general areas for those who want an overall massage. Warning: this is for someone who wants a deep-tissue massage. You're probably going to be a little sore after using it the first time. It really batters your muscles on a lot of the settings - but that's exactly what I was looking for. I didn't want just a little vibration on the surface of my skin. Also, there is supposedly a timer built in that shuts off after about 15 minutes. I wouldn't know, I'm not sure how anyone could use it for that long at a time. It's very intense. Other than that, it's fairly easy to maneuver even if it is a little heavy and clunky. It is moderately noisy but that doesn't really bother me. The payoff of an intense massage is well worth it.

I have used this product for hours and hours and it holds up to the abuse. Excellent for self use on back and shoulders. Shaped to reach the right places. My first Panasonic worked for over a year with heavy use. The reason it broke was because I dropped too many times from falling asleep during use.

Wonderful handheld therapeutic massager,

This review is from: Panasonic EV2610K Easy Reach Dual Chopper Hand-Held Massager, Black/Silver (Health and Beauty)
This handheld massager is by far the most realistic one that I own. It really mimics different hand motions of a real person performing therapeutic massage. Especially the chopping and fist hammering actions which no other handheld massager out there can do, period. It is very powerful, but easy to handle. This massager needs to be used correctly to give satisfactory result and it is not that hard to do so. The mechanism only engage to the full power when the massager is pressed down with some force onto the area that you desire. Without pressing the massager down, it does not do a whole lot. "Hurt so good" is the best term to describe both how this massager is to be used correctly and what the result it will give you. I enjoy large muscle chopping and hammering, and even more so the deep trigger points stimulation that this massager is fully capable of. I am planning to get a second one, so I can use them at the same time just might feel like the real thing. Highly recommended.

For years I had been using a Panasonic Reach Easy model EV236 and found it very effective for legs and shoulder. When it finally wore out, I tried to find a replacement and it apparently is a discontinued item.So I ordered the EV2610K Easy Reach Dual Chopper Hand-Held Massager, thinking maybe it's even a better idea. How disappointed I am to find it hard to use -- bulky, noisy and it doesn't reach easy like the older model I've enjoyed for years. Also, when you put it on one setting that does seem the best, all of a sudden it will change to another choppy setting. Very annoying! Panasonic, please bring back the older design. It worked!! |
