I've had this for about two years now. My doctor asked me to go out and buy a blood pressure monitor for your arm not for your wrist. I brought it into him and he took my blood pressure the conventional way and with the Panasonic one I purchased. Both were accurate. He took down the model number and was going to recommend it other patients who were looking for one.

Maybe I got a lemon?,

After recent values have placed me in the 'hypertensive' range, I felt I needed a monitor for home, to gauge the effects of my newly prescribed B/P med. As an RN, I'm quite familiar with various B/P monitors, and I certainly know how to use them. I did extensive research before settling on the Panasonic EW3222S, based largely on the wonderful reviews.
Although the machine is bulky, I really like the design. It is extremely easy to use, even for a novice, and I enjoy that the results are large enough that I can take my B/P sans reading glasses. I also like the 2 person memory, quick fit cuff, and cuff storage. I'm not sure that the '3 color light system' that indicates whether your reading is hypertension, prehypertension, or normal is necessary and it just takes up space. Most motivated in following their B/P's know the optimum range they are seeking. I would have preferred to see a different feature, such as, an irregular pulse monitor. However, it matters not, that I like the design and ease of use, when I'm not obtaining accurate readings. For example, I just took my B/P with a result of 90/58. Well, I knew this was not an accurate value for me. I immediately took the reading again and it was 127/70. Quite a bit of difference. A few minutes later I got a diastolic B/P of 113. No way! I have checked out this machine against two others. If I take my B/P three times, I will get at least one value, that matches up closely with the other machines. But, who am I supposed to be---Kreskin? I'm supposed to know which of the three readings is closest to accurate? Also, there is a problem with the pulse rate. I frequently get readings over 100. When I take my pulse manually, by palpation, I find the pulse on the machine is almost always 9 to 10 BPM higher. Now, with this value, I can just simply subtract 10 BPM every time I receive a reading and will be in the ballpark, but there's no way to adjust for the manic B/P readings. With the glowing, five star reviews here, I suspect I may have received a 'lemon.' I procrastinated too long to send it back, which is what I should have done. My advice would be to always check the accuracy of your machine against your physicians, because you must be on the same page. Inaccurate B/P readings, particularly when medications are being adjusted, is downright dangerous. If your Panasonic is functioning accurately, I think you will be very pleased with the overall design, which is why so many have praised the unit. I wish I could have been one of them. I'm going back to the old sphygmo and stethoscope, for now, while I continue my search.

Very good and compact. Took it to my doctor and caliberated with the conventional pressure measuring instrument they use in the clinic. The results were exactly same. The doctor was impressed and had to buy him one for Christmas present. This is one of the best out there in the market in its category.

This is a very well made and easy to use product. My whole family uses it because it's so convenient and easy. I'm a doctor and I can confirm that this is a very accurate unit when compared to my own reading with a stethoscope. I would definite recommend this unit.

Your blood pressure changes a lot from day to day, and even from minute to minute depending on what you're doing. Getting a single reading from your doctor once or twice per year is not sufficient. By having your own blood pressure monitor you can check your blood pressure every week, or every day, or in different situations like in the morning, at night, after eating, after drinking caffeinated beverages, after exercising, etc., and get a much more complete picture. You can learn what fluctuations are normal and you can spot long-term trends. Think of it like owning your own bathroom scale -- do you want to depend on your doctor to tell you your weight once a year, or do want to *know* your weight and regularly monitor how your lifestyle affects it? You should know it yourself -- same with blood pressure.
This particular device is convenient and simple to use. You put the cuff on, press a button, sit still for a minute while it inflates, and look at the results. It gives you the basic information -- systolic, diastolic, pulse -- and a yellow or red warning light goes on if that particular reading indicates pre-hypertension or hypertension. You can press a button to save the results if you want. There are two such buttons, so two people can share the device and save their results separately. It's easy to view the saved results along with the date and time each reading was taken. To store the device you just roll up the cuff and put it into its own compartment in the back of the device. There are no extra parts to lose. This device seems to be accurate. I took mine along on my most recent check-up and its reading was in line with the doctor's readings. I've had my unit for two years and taken hundreds of readings with it and never had a problem with it. It's still on its first set of 4 AA batteries.

My other blood pressure monitor was too inconsistent with vast changes with a new reading every 15 minutes. Not this Panasonic. Perfectly consistent and logical every time I use it. Only wish the tube from cuff to base was a little longer. Otherwise, perfect.

My wife and I both use this. Simple to use. Memory feature allows us both to review our individual past and average. We compared to the Dr's unit and it was within 1-2 units of their measure.

The Panasonic EW3122S is a very nice unit with a lot of detail, I enjoy the tech stuff so makes it more fun. I noticed right from the start that the unit is quite a bit quieter than my previous unit also the storage of the arm band is another plus. The readings seem to be quite accurate although I didn't check it with a doctor has the previous person had. I am very pleased with this unit and would not hesitate to buy it again and the price is very reasonable. If you need one this product can't be beat.

Much better than the last machine I bought,
This review is from: Panasonic EW3122S Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor (Silver) (Health and Beauty)
This blood pressure machine was recommended by my doctor. It's fast and very easy to use. I especially like the memory feature so I can track my readings. I apparently wasn't getting accurate readings with my prior machine but with this one, the cuff autoinflates so I have been getting more consistent readings. The cuff is easy to put on too because it is already partially formed; you only have to attach the end flap which is then held in place with velcro. I had to fully wrap my old one which is not easy to do with one hand. This is a really good machine.

In my view the Panasonic BPR machine is far superior to the Omron at the same price point
