Get the Milwaukee. Same screwdriver. Better warranty!,
By
This review is from: Panasonic EY503B 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drill/Driver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I compared this Panasonic screwdriver with the Milwaukee 2.4 volt 6547-22. It's basically the same screwdriver. The Milwaukee is also made in Japan. With the Milwaukee, you get two batteries, a fitted case, and three bits, including a 1/4" socket adapter and drill bits. It even comes with a 1/4" Jacobs chuck that fits the driver's 1/4" hex socket. The Milwaukee has a five (5) year warranty on everything except the batteries. The batteries are warrantied for one year. Eveyything is true from the other reviews on this tool and especially the Milwaukee. Further, the red body of the Milwaukee is less likely to get lost than the black Panasonic at the work site.

Best Tool Ever Invented!,

This review is from: Panasonic EY503B 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drill/Driver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have owned this tool for about 6 years, and my only complaint is that I've used it so much that I need a new battery for it, and I'm having trouble finding one. Make sure you get at least two or even three batteries for it. You'll be amazed at how much work you can do with this tool. This was the first battery-powered tool I ever bought, and although I now have a more powerful cordless drill for bigger jobs, I still come back to this one time and again for small jobs. It is light weight and its ability to bend in the middle make it work in almost any circumstance and give it great balance. It takes up almost no space in the kitchen drawer. There are so many different kinds of hex shaft accessories that you can use with this tool. I've used the tool with nut drivers and drill bits. I even have a small hex-shaft drill chuck that further increases the usefulness of this thing. If you have a bigger cordless drill (12-18 volt), get one of these too. For smaller jobs you will experience much less wrist fatigue using this tool. Gone are the days when a small household project left me with blisters in the middle of my palms from using a hand screwdriver. I highly recommend this tool.

This is no toy.,

Awesome. Long battery life and powerful. Been using this product for years and I'm completely satisfied. "It's not 18 volts... it's only 2.4 volts, sounds too wimpy and too expensive". Wrong. Try it, You'll like it!

A Great Lightweight Cordless Screwdriver,
By
This review is from: Panasonic EY503B 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drill/Driver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've owned my Panasonic 2.4v screwdriver for about ten years, albeit unused for the past 5 or so due to lack of fresh NiCd batteries. Anyway, the EY503B was the best lightweight cordless screwdriver you could buy back around 1991, two speed with torque clutch. I used it professionally daily back then and it's versatility and performance always made my job easier. I recently bought fresh batteries and look forward to putting it back into my tool bag.

Panasonic Forward-Reverse Switch,
By
This review is from: Panasonic EY503B 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Drill/Driver (Tools & Home Improvement)
I paid 79.99 for a Panasonic EY503B 2.4-Volt Cordless Drill & Driver. This is a lot of money for a screw driver and I would have expected a professional quality tool for the money. What I got was a hand held tool that has a poorly designed forward-reverse button. It takes so much force to toggle the button that I got an indentation in my thumb. I thought the first one was defective, so I had Amazon.com replace the ordered tool. The replacement Panasonic was exactly of the same poor quality.

The 2.4V wireless panasonic driver made my job easy and don't worry about the 2.4V, which must be proven to be more powerful than you expect. It was perfectly working for my tedious boring job at home. If anyone who interested in electric tool for hobby or whatever, try to own it. You are not going to be disappointed. You will like it.

I have used this driver for the last eight years as well as some others on the market, nothing will beat this unit. I am on my third driver now, not bad considering that I use this driver literally at least a dozen times a day. I use it in my work as a major appliance tech., I would recomend this driver without any reservations at all!!

Best cordless screwdriver available,

I have owned the driver for 21 years. On my 3rd round of batteries. The adjustable torque settings are great, I can use it in building my own computers and avoid stripping screws yet drive screws and lag bolts through 1/2" drywall without problems. For the person who had problems with the switch I regret they had a problem, but my switch has always been easy to use as long as I don't engage the locking clutch. It's comfortable whether in pistol or straight mode and has been a trusted tool for these many years. I have (so far) always been able to find batteries by googling them. About half the time I can find some on Amazon. So if you need a screwdriver to do work with delicate equipment (like repairing a computer) this is the one tool to have.

It looks very cool but hard to operate with your thumb. I will prefer the one with trigger.

The best; makes the guys at Sears and Home Depot envious...,

I've used the EY-503 for a couple of years while doing repairs on hardware for a major computer company. It's an impressive tool with great torque settings, two speed selections, and a really comfortable pistol grip. I work with it on even small items, like T6 bits without worrying about stripping them out. Not too powerful, but not weak either, it is amazingly useful. When I was looking for a personal driver, I tried hardware stores like Sears and Home Depot but could not find anything that came close. Shame on me for trying to save a few bucks. I bought one here at Amazon then took it back to Sears and Home Depot to show the salesmen I spoke with what I was talking about. All of them were very impressed with the EY-503 and one I know of ended up buying one. The EY-503 is not an inexpensive tool by any means. However, if you use power tools on small items on a daily basis, this driver will more than pay for itself in utility as well as a long useful life. My only suggestion is that under very heavy use, you pick up a second battery. |
