No Static; best cordless I've ever owned,

We've always had Uniden cordless phones but once we went to a wireless DSL, the static and interference has been a non-stop annoyance. We read good reviews about this Panasonic phone and decided to get it. We were not disappointed. Clear connections, no static ever, easy to set-up and lots of features. I especially like the speakerphone feature. Great phone! By the way, I shopped it around on the internet and found that Amazon had the lowest price, and, of course free shipping.

Having checked out a varity of phones I didn't want to spend an arm and a leg to get a descent phone - I've done that before with very disappointing results from some generally well regarded manufactures. I took a chance on the this Panasonic model and could not be happier. Voice quality is excellant with a speaker phone on all three phones - so nice when you are put on hold. Battery life is great as is the reception range. It would be a waste of money to spend more on a phone.

I bought these phones after reading the other customer reviews and I am so pleased with the results! It was extremely easy to set up the handset system. Any adjustments made to one phone/handset (ie. phonebook entries, date/time adjustments, etc...) automatically transfers to the other handsets. The call quality is crystal clear with no interception from wireless devices and other equipment. The range is great too; I was amazed at how far I could walk around and still have a clear call. The speaker phone function is very useful as is the night mode. I even bought an additional handset after I ordered this and it seriously took me 10 seconds to register the new handset with the existing ones. Awesome phone for the price, I couldn't be happier and I would totally recommend this product.

Not Impressed...,

I wish I would've stuck with my gut and stayed away from this phone. Sound quality is not the greatest and the phone is virtually impossible to answer at night as none of the buttons light up to show which button is needed to answer the call. During daylight, it works ok, but the phone is a little difficult to use when we want to see which calls were missed and then get to Voice Mail (through the pre-programmed feature). We've also had problems with 2 of the 3 phones not receiving calls at all (sound or light indicator) when the third is ringing, and also problems with the message indicator not flashing when we do have a new message. The phone does come with several ring tone options, but most are so awful I can't imagine anyone actually using them.
One thing I do like is the Night Mode feature as I can set the phone to automatically turn off the ringer during the hours my husband and kids are normally sleeping. I also liked (and greatly appreciated) the shared phone book feature. That meant not having to type in 20 names/numbers on each and every phone. All in all it's a decent phone for the price, but don't expect anything amazing.

Misleading & Incorrect Product Description,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone - 3 Handset System (KX-TG6313S) (Office Product)
I purchased the KX-TG6313S & and an extra handset from Amazon.com on December 20th to support a second phone line (VOIP) that we recently added.
The item as listed at the time of order (and is still there today January 3rd): Technical Details * DECT 6.0 expandable digital cordless answering system * Talking caller ID; talking alarm clock; talking battery alert * All-digital answering machine; night mode with light-up indicator * 50-station shared phonebook; digital handset speakerphone * Expandable up to six handsets for busy offices and homes INACCURATE/MISLEADING: There is NO talking caller ID, talking alarm clock or talking battery alert. Panasonic makes DECT systems with these features, but they are NOT available with this unit. As another customer has noted, there is no digital answering machine - although I suspected that when I ordered. As long as the system supported voicemail (and it does) I was okay with that. System PROS: I tried this system on both our regular telco (POTS) and the new VOIP line and call quality is excellent for both. I've had ZERO problems with fuzzy calls or range problems with handsets away from the base - we have a good sized home. This is our second Panasonic DECT system (the other is the KX-TG1034S). I really prefer this one because of the shared phonebook. However, some customers might prefer separate phonebooks for each handset for different users on their system. System cons: At least one user complained about the phone charging light being too bright at night. Although I disagree about the brightness, this light is the same light for voicemail, but it blinks (or flashes) for new voicemail. The problem (for me) is that voicemail indicator is not all that noticeable in well lit areas from some angles. Lack of backlit keys is a minor drawback. For only about $20 more than I paid for the KX-TG6313 & an extra handset, a different 4 handset Panasonic DECT system is available (on Amazon) that actually has ALL of the features listed. Other competing systems from Sam's Club and other merchants are available (for somewhat more) with these features as well. The misleading/inaccurate product description of this system on Amazon might cause buyers to eliminate other systems because the price difference. Amazon kudos: Although I requested free Super-Saver shipping and expected the items to arrive around the end of the year, they actually shipped much sooner and arrived on the 24th. Update (12Jan09): I notified Amazon via feedback about this inaccurate & misleading product description. The response (a week ago) included this statement, "I'll see that this error is corrected as soon as possible." Then the email provided steps for me to "update product details" as if this was my responsibility! Not surprisingly, the erroneous information still exists today.

We have had these phones for about a month and overall we are very satisfied with the battery life, sound quality, reception and the ergonomics. The only drawback is that the phones lack earphone jacks, which are convenient for hands-free operation when one is moving about the house.

This Phone Drops Calls,
By Gadget Guy (Lambertville, NJ) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone - 3 Handset System (KX-TG6313S) (Office Product)
I recently purchased the KX-TG6312S after returning the Panasonic Link-to-Cell Cordless Phone - KX-TH1212B. The Link-to-Cell system kept dropping calls and was ultimately pulled from the shelves at Radio Shack.
So I decided to give Panasonic another chance with the KX-TG6312S, even after speaking with their useless (off-shore) technical support team when having problems with the Link-to-Cell system. Just to be clear, the KX-TG6312S is the same as the KX-TG6313S but the KX-TG6313S includes one additional handset. Within 1 hour of using the KX-TG6312S phone on a conference call, the call was dropped with a message telling me "No link to base." Someone else on Amazon also reported having an issue with dropped calls with the KX-TG6313S. I love the phone but what's up with that? Is this what they call "Ideas for life?" The thing I liked the most about the phone was the speaker phone sound quality and the fact that it uses off the shelf AAA rechargeable batteries. But like the other phone, it too was returned to the place of purchase and replaced with a Uniden DECT 2060-2 for slightly less money. Most people seem to be happy with this phone but maybe it's just my luck or something. I really do hope that the Uniden does the trick but I won't be going back to Panasonic anytime too soon especially after two bad experiences.

This is the 3-handset version of the KX-TF6311S model (the 6311 model just has one handset, the 6312 has two).
These are great phones. We haven't had any problems with them. They have tons of options on them, like ringer volume, the light-up indicator, and a large phone book that is automatically shared between the phones. Each phone takes 2 AAA batteries, and then charge while on the cradle. So far, we've had them 2 weeks, and we talk on them for about 3 hours/week, and haven't had to replace any batteries. But when we do, it will be much cheaper to get AAA batteries, instead of the manufacturer's battery. No static whatsoever, and our main base is close to our microwave and dishwasher. The phones look nice, too, and the cradles are small and don't take up much room. Also, the main base can sit on a surface or can be hung on the wall. The phones themselves are small but comfortable to hold. The instructions are easy and clear to read, and it's really very easy to just figure the phone out without the instructions -- the phone really leads you through the steps of how to do something. Also, this is an expandable phone set, so you can add more handsets as needed. The reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is for two reasons. The first is because there is no answering machine on this phone. You must subscribe to your local phone company's voice mail program to receive messages. Instead of doing this, we are using an old answering machine, and it's doing just fine. The second reason is because occasionally there is an echo on the other line. I don't know if it's our phones or the other person's, but the echo can be loud and obnoxious. Has only happened with certain callers, though. I recommend this product, especially because of it's price tag, plus we got free shipping from Amazon.com. If you're not looking for over-the-top phones, but just good, simple, nice-looking, functioning phones, these are for you.

I am getting better reception and clarity with these 6.0 phones. However, I was disappointed that the key pad doesn't light up and it is a little harder to find the missed calls. Otherwise, it is much better when I use it outdoors away from it's base.

Plagued by dropped calls,

If you are going to buy a DECT phone (no matter which brand) I would suggest you be sure to purchase from a place that has a great return policy. This technology seems to work fine for some people, but unfortunately I have fallen into the sizable camp of people for whom it does not work. No matter where we place the base, we end up having calls get dropped - several times a day. It's very annoying and frustrating. I had this problem first with Panasonic's spiffy bluetooth compatible DECT model (KX-TH1212B). Thinking maybe it was the bluetooth part that was causing the dropped calls, I switched to this simpler model, the KX-TG6311. It too suffers from the dropped call syndrome. When it works, it's great. But when it drops a call, you want to throw it at the wall. Read the Amazon user reviews of the KX-TH1212B for more on this -- as of today, 21 of the 46 reviews give it one star, predominantly because of the dropped call issue. And Panasonic's customer service people are clueless about this.
