WORKS VERY WELL,
This review is from: Panasonic FV-04VE1 WhisperComfortTM Spot ERV Ceiling Insert Ventilator with Balanced Ventilation and Patent-Pending Capillary Core (Tools & Home Improvement)
I like this product. The cost of installing though, far exceeds the cost to buy the unit. Running the lines, and most importantly, making the penetration through the side of the house (especially hard if its a basement), will be a lot of work. Also don't forget an electrician will have to wire it. Also, DEFINITELY get the accessory panasonic makes, the wall cap. It makes it much easier to terminate the installation. Anyhow, I have two units, installed one in my basement, one upstairs. I have them running all the time on the lowest setting, 10CFM, and the house is constantly fresh. Also it does a pretty good job of recovering heat in the winter, so the air blowing in is just a bit cooler than room temp, but not by much, considering it is below 40 degrees outside. In the summer, the efficiency is a little reduced. So if its very hot, as in 90 degrees outside, and inside its 75, the air temp blowing in is still about 81-83 degrees. Still a better option than opening the window.
