Product Description

Amazon.com Product Description

The KX-TG5561M 5.8 GHz cordless phone system from Panasonic offers digital FHSS signal reception for clear, secure calls, plus room to grow. Featuring call waiting and talking caller ID, the KX-TG5561M is able to store up to 50 names and numbers. A light-up antenna alerts you to new calls silently, if you choose, while versatile ringer options let you choose from three sound patterns, four melodies, or even customized ring tones that you can record yourself.

A single, metallic grey handset (model KX-TGA552M) is included; the system can be expanded to eight handsets total. Accessory handsets do not require separate phone jacks--just plug the charging cradle into a power outlet, and the handset will automatically configure itself to the base system.

Additional features include mute, hold, flash, redial (last number dialed from the base, last five numbers from the handset), and dual keypad and display. The KX-TG5561M offers speakerphone capabilities from both base and handset, and an intercom system allows communication between handsets and between the base unit and individual handsets.

Not only do these phones look great, they are intuitive to use and have great reception and voice quality both ways.

The best feature for us:

We have Verizon phone service with both Caller ID and Voice Mail. Not only does the phone 'talk' the caller ID (which honestly is not really necessary for us, but fun anyway) but the best part is that the handset LED shows if we have 'VOICE MAIL' - so instead of having to pick up the phone to hear the annoying voice mail sound, we just have to look at the LED on the handset.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Phone, September 21, 2005

I had purchase a 2.4 GHz previous and it was nothing but trouble. A friend of mine purchased this phone and really liked it so I purchased it with an extra handset. We love it. I take it outside with me and never have to run for the phone. The reception is very clear. Best phone I have ever owned.

4.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic KX-TG5561, November 23, 2005
This review is from: Panasonic GigaRange KX-TG5561M 5.8 GHz DSS Expandable Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID (Metallic Grey) (Office Product)
Overall excellent phone, great sound quality, love the base dial pad keys, functional, easy menu options, one touch voicemail button, etc. Perfect little phone for your desk! The only changes I would have liked to see would be a LCD display on the base unit dial pad, and make the phone handset a little bigger with bigger buttons. The handset is somewhat small if you are like me and like to press the handset between your shoulder and head while having your hands free to shuffle papers and take notes while talking. Excellent phone, I give it 4.5 stars, would give it 5 stars if handset was bigger, but that is just a personal preferance.
