Yes, this headset breaks with use. The earpiece pops out or the wires come loose. I "only" get about three or four months use out of one (7+ hours per day, 5-6 days per week). But what do you seriously expect at this price-point? The thing sounds GREAT, the fit is comfortable, the mic is stellar and it really does reverse easily - I reverse it several times a day as each ear gets tired.

This is not, and is not intended to be, your "forever headset." It's disposable and priced to match. I just killed my third and, as I write this, my fourth is winging it's way here via free Amazon Prime 2-day shipping. I'm hard on my headsets and I never had a $60 or $100 unit last more than a year. With this headset, I've spent about $50 over about 16 months. Buy it for what it is, a very nice, very cheap headset that will make your workday sooooo much better.

The headset works great for my husband. We both enjoy the freedom of being able to glug it into the phone, slide the phone into a shirt pocket, and lose the burden of the handset. We both agree the headset is light and has enough grip to stay on without pinching. He has used it for long "tech" calls and the headset didn't develope a hotspots. Here is where we differ. My husband says the microphone is very sensitive so placement and background noise is a consideration as it is with most headsets. I say the microphone is not sensitive enough and I cannot be heard when calling into meetings that are using a speaker phone. One on one calls are just fine.

If you're considering this one you're probably also looking at the Panasonic KX-TCA60. This one's twice as much but worth it. The Panasonic KX-TCA60 earpiece is so small that it doesn't ever really feel seated. I also snapped the headband after a month or two. Granted, I have a bigger-than-average head.

I've had this one for a couple of months. No complaints.

I work from home and on the phone for about 6-8 hours per day. I have tried many different headsets for cordless phones and this one is the best I have found under $50. The Panasonic KX-TCA60 was ok but is not tight enough on the head and therefore can't tolerate much movement without falling off my head. The KX-TCA400 fits nice and snug and there are no worries about it falling off or having to be constantly adjusted. For under $20 it can't be beat.

This is for use in a home office, and I spend between 2-5 hours a day on the phone (executive search). I've had this for about a week. I've used headsets in the past, but not within the last 7 years. Wasn't really sure I wanted to go back to a headset, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money. I recently bought ($190) a new Panasonic DECT 6.0 Bluetooth phone (KX-TG6582), and read reviews stating Panasonic headsets work great with Panasonic phones. I've found this to be accurate. Mine works perfectly when in the same room as the phone base, not as well when in another room. Bottom line, for $15 you can't beat this deal.

Eventually, I'll go to a wireless bluetooth option, but I expect to spend over $200 for that setup with Plantronics. This was a good "baby step" for me. I hope this review is helpful to anyone looking for a good home office setup, who expects to be on the phone a lot. I relied on these reviews myself and just wanted one review to have a complete phone setup included.

The pluses

+ Good audio quality
+ Good build quality

The minuses

- Short headband, not expandable much. If you have a large head, this product is not for you. Reduced a star for this.
- Painful on the non-audio side. Wish Panasonic had spared a couple of cents extra to put in some padding. Reduced another star for this.
- Costly

Overall, I'm happy with the quality, though padding on the non-audio side would have made life a little less miserable.

My wife had been asking for sometime using which she could be on the phone as well keep on working on cooking or some other home activity. I looked at Plantronics but those were very expensive. The KX-TCA400 was very inexpensive product and when used with cordless phone, it gave all the mobility that is needed in a home. The sound quality is great. After a prolonged phone call, I do feel little inconvenient but that I believe would be with every other similar product. The padding on the ear piece is very comfortable.

One issue though is that when I use this headset with the cordless phone, the person on the other end of the line have reported static. So at times, I have to take the headset off. As you could imagine that is not acceptable, I would soon be replacing this headset.

Great headset. This is my second one. My employees love them. It's light, with great sound quality, and a low price. Shipping was fast and on time...

This is by far the best headset I have ever used. I can hear the person as clearly as I would without the headset. Yes!

Don't buy this product. I have had nothing but complaints since I purchased it. People on conference calls can't hear me. I have to use the handset. It doesn't have a mute button either. I wish I could send it back for a refund.
