5.0 out of 5 stars Great Phone with Great Features
Overall I like this phone. Yes, the talking Caller ID is sometimes difficult to understand but what do you expect for an electronically generated voice. After hearing the pronounciation of my frequent callers a few times, I understand it just fine (and those calls are the only ones I really care to listen out for). I can even stick my head out of the shower and listen...

Overall I like this phone. Yes, the talking Caller ID is sometimes difficult to understand but what do you expect for an electronically generated voice. After hearing the pronounciation of my frequent callers a few times, I understand it just fine (and those calls are the only ones I really care to listen out for). I can even stick my head out of the shower and listen and understand the voice announcement. It is the clearest cell phone I have ever owned. No static, no muffled voices, no interference. This is the first time when I talk on the phone and hear interference and I know it is not my phone causing it. I am buying another one for my elderly father for Christmas because he has trouble hearing and will have no problem hearing with this phone. He has a Uniden now and the sound volume is very faint even on the highest volume setting.

I like the speakerphone feature on the handset. I will NEVER buy another phone without it. It comes in handy when I am on hold forever and can put the phone down while I wait and not have to hold it next to my ear. The speaker is also convenient when I have to follow telephone prompts and punch in a bunch of numbers without having to keep putting the phone up to my ear to hear the next prompt.

This phone has the nice message indicator light on the base and the handset. I love that because I can see immediately if I have a message waiting for me.

Oh, I could go on and on about this phone but I tell you it is the best phone I have ever owned. I am struggling to think of anything negative to say about it but I cannot. Yes, it is pricey. The high price caused me to hesitate for about a month before I finally bought one. I put it on my wish list and kept looking around for something cheaper with equivalent features but in the end I had to come back to this phone. But take it from me, it is well worth it.

I have had this phone for about a month now.
Pros:
No stactic

Easy to use menu
Clear caller ID screen
Speaker phone is clear, callers can't tell that U are

Cons:
The talking caller Id is horrible. It doesn't pronounce
the names correct.
The names are not announce until after the second ring.
The voice enchancer has an echo

Overall I like the phone. A couple of years ago I had a phone from ameritech that let U record your voice for the voice announcer. That is what panasonic should do with this phone.

1.0 out of 5 stars Over-priced and NO free shipping!!, April 14, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2336S 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID (Silver) (Office Product)
I've seen this sale phone on sale for $49.99. Why is Amazon charging so much more and NO free shipping? It's definitely not ODD sized.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Combo, October 20, 2004
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2336S 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID (Silver) (Office Product)
I purchased this phone to replace a 3-year-old Panasonic Gigahertz DSS Elite phone. The Elite was a great combination of style and useful features. I was looking for a phone without allot of visual gimmicks but had the high-end features I had gotten used to. Enter the TG2336S.

After having this phone a few days I don't really miss the 2 LCD screen Elite it replaced.

PROS:

1. Great Feel - Comfortable to hold and press against the ear.

2. Style - No visual gimmicks. Unlike some of Panasonic's other models this phone is visually lean, yet attractive.

3. Easy To Use Interface.

4. Nice Big Voice Mail (VM) button and indicator!! This was something I had to have. The Elite had an illuminated translucent VM indicator; this model has the next best thing.

5. Sound Quality - It's on par with a 2.4GHZ phone.

6. Convertible Base - The base can be wall mounted OR placed on a flat surface. This may sound not sound like a big deal; however, shop around. The wall mount option is hard to find in a high-end phone.

CONS

1. It's 2.4GHZ instead of the newer, 5.8GHZ

2. Pricey - Seems a little high. You can pick up similar Panasonic units with answerers for only a few dollars more.

SUMMARY

A great phone with hard to find features, including wall mount, VM compatibilty. A final phone to purchase before making the switch to more expensive 5.8GHZ units.

Odd, more expensive than Walmart (less than $60), and you have to pay for shipping? No thanks!

1.0 out of 5 stars Weak batteries!!!, April 22, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2336S 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID (Silver) (Office Product)
Had to buy new batteries after only a couple of months. You'll be talking, and then the batteries die. Paid $55, but had to buy new batteries.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great phone, Talking Caller ID needs work, August 27, 2005
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2336S 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID (Silver) (Office Product)
This is a nice phone with a lot of really cool features. The display is backlit and the buttons are very nice and small, but not too small or hard to press like other phones I've owned in the past. The batttery life on this baby is absolutely supurb and I've been able to walk pretty far away and it still sounds just fine. My only real slight problem with the phone, as you may have seen in the review's title, is the talking caller ID feature, one of my reasons for purchasing this unit. I've got a visual impairment so it's very nice to be able to know whose calling. But like other reviews have said and I'll confirm this, the phone does not always pronounce the person's name correctly, and sometimes it only says where the call is from. My friend in Georgia calls me and it says, "Call from...Georgia call". So if you're looking for something sofisticated with a nice voice, I'm afraid you might be disappointed. Also it's a woman's voice and it sounds very...electronic. So overall the sound quality of the phone is supurb, but Panasonic needs to get a better talking caller ID in future models.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I wanted!, April 3, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2336S 2.4 GHz DSS Cordless Phone with Talking Caller ID (Silver) (Office Product)
When I found this product many years ago; I knew I had found a good one! So after accidentally dropping the handset in the toilet I was distraught knowing that I probably wouldn't be able to replace it. But ALAS! I went to Amazon.com and sure enough found the SAME phone! I am delighted! Why? This phone hangs on the wall... (not alot of new phone sets do!!) This phone has audio caller ID. I can hear who is calling before running to the phone. It has all the features that I need for a phone. Panasonic has done a great job!! I am hoping this one last as long as my last one did (I am thinking 15 years!!). I just have to be sure NOT to take the handset into the bathroom....

TALKING TELE w/no answering machine is exactly what I wanted. I purchased this phone a couple of years ago, could not find it in the stores anymore. Thought they were never going to be around again. Finally checked on AMAZON, and to may amazement, there it was. I purchased it, gave it to my daughter as a gift. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
