Amazon.com Two-Line Operation Helps You Manage Your Calls
With two-line operation, you can conference in two outside lines to have a three-way conversation. Or place your current call on hold to make another call. Being able to use two phone lines with just one phone makes it convenient and efficient to manage your calls.

Reduced Interference, Improved Security against Eavesdropping
2.4 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum Technology. That's a mouthful, but what does it mean? Our technology "hops" constantly through a range of available channels to reduce interference and to provide improved security against eavesdropping. And since it is all digital technology, you get long range and incredible clarity.

Kids Sleeping? The Antenna Will Signal You Silently
This year, we've found a way to shorten the handset antenna while still maintaining the long range that Panasonic customers have become accustomed to. But what's even cooler is that the tip of the antenna--which lights up--will alert you to an incoming call (or a message waiting for you1). The light-up indicator will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message in your voice mailbox. So turn off the ringer, let the kids sleep, and never miss a call. Put the Phone Down While You Talk
Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal-until you have to call an automated phone system. By the time you press "2" and return the phone to your ear, you missed half the next option! And when they put you on hold for ten minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with the handset speakerphone. Just listen along, and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa listen to their new grandchild at the same time, painting your nails as you talk to your best friend, or just being able to set the phone down while you talk.

See Who's Calling, Even if You're Already on the Phone
We've all become accustomed to Caller ID and its ability to let us see who's calling before we answer the phone. Then there's call waiting, a beep letting us know there's another call coming in. But until now, you wouldn't know who was beeping in unless you answered it. With Call Waiting Caller ID2 you get the best of both worlds. Now when you get a beep, you can see who's calling before you answer. But we'll leave that decision up to you.

1. Requires subscription to voice mail service from your phone company.
2. Requires subscription to name-and-number Caller ID, call waiting and/or voice mail services offered by certain local telephone companies for a fee. Name pronunciation may vary. Name pronunciation quality is based on names most commonly used in the U.S.A.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not Many Choices., March 9, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2480S 2.4 GHz 2.4GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
With most of the available two-line phones now being sold as console units that will support many cordless handsets and built in message features, I wanted a plain old, stand alone, two line phone. Like the old record turntables, most of the big manufacturers still offer one or two choices but the pickings are slim. I decided to chose Panasonic based on a mostly positive experience with their products over the years, but it is not a great phone. Good phone, yes. It can be staticy and not so clear from time to time but I always get a signal. The operation sequence for managing the incoming calls has you push one button and the phone will answer what ever line is comming in. This system does not perform well with "call waiting". I still don't have it down yet. Fortunatly most people call back if I cut them off.

In closing, I had a V-Tech before this that worked great but died after about 14 months. They still make one but the Panasonic seemed a safer choice.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent 2-line phone for the price, August 28, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2480S 2.4 GHz 2.4GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
Pros:
-CallerID on Call Waiting function.
-Wall mountable base.
-Can be quicky programmed with codes (direct commands).
-Temporary Ringer Off function compensates a bit for lack of DND.
-Operation in the 2.4GHz frequency range has much better coverage than 5.8GHz.

Cons:
-Callers often complain they can barely hear me speak. Voice enhancement (VE) and clarity booster are no help.
-Phone has no DND (Do Not Disturb) button.
-Handset does not display current time/date.
-Handset does not display time elapsed after call.
-Speakerphone only on handset, not base.
-User needs to press HOLD before picking each other line.
-Not many ring tones to choose from.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than most, September 18, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2480S 2.4 GHz 2.4GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
Since there seems to be no thoroughly developed cordless phones available, the Panasonic is sort of like picking a presidential candidate: the lesser of the bad. It seems to be made better than most without the typical creaky plastic housing and the sound quality is fine. It also gives plenty of warning for low battery. For some reason, the dialing from memory is like it's second language. Slow and labored. I wish it had a simple way to turn the ringers on and off, not through a sometimes awkward menu gauntlet. And who knows why Panasonic doesn't offer a remote charger base. But credit where credit's due, I've had it for almost a year now with nary a problem.
