5.0 out of 5 stars Panasonic Does it Again!
We have four Panasonic 900 mhz cordless two-line phones in the house, which all work very well. However, the one in my office picks up interference from my Intel wireless keyboard and mouse which operates @900 mhz. I don't get why other reviewers rate this phone 5, 4 or even 2 stars... This phone and its "brothers" (silver & white color) are just good looking and with some kind of good reception, BUT, the BATTERY is useless, it doesn't work for more than 20 minutes of conversation, or if you leave it out the charger, it will loose its charge in 3-4 hours max. We have four Panasonic 900 mhz cordless two-line phones in the house, which all work very well. However, the one in my office picks up interference from my Intel wireless keyboard and mouse which operates @900 mhz. Another problem I wanted to resolve was that our Casio answerphone would lose messages when the power was off - its battery backup never worked. Solution? The Panasonic TG2593B. The 2.4 ghz signal gives hardwired quality audio. The handset lasts 50+ hours outside the cradle w/o recharging.

The programming features are incredibly flexible. For example, with four phones and two lines and receiving faxes at all hours, we have programmed the base on my office phone to be the only one that rings in the house.

The answer phone is very flexible, for example we've programmed it to only answer on one line and not the other which we use for faxes and outgoing calls. Messages are stored in flash memory and are not lost when power is disconnected.

While the phone worked right out of the box, you do have to read the manual to implement its many features.

After looking for the perfect two-line phone I've finally found it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very,very good phone!!!!!!!, January 27, 2002
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2593B 2.4 GHz DSS 2-Line Cordless Telephone with Caller ID and Digital Answering System (Black) (Office Product)
Simple enough this phone is all about durability and range, range and more range!!!!!!! I took this phone outside my house walked approx. 200-300ft. from the base with perfect clarity! The only reason I didn't use the phone for a longer distance is because it needed to charge =) (I just got it). This phone is superior to other 2-Line 900Mhz phones by far! This phone is armored and has rubber side grips which really make it good for working outside with it (has a belt-clip also).

This phone is hands down the best two-line non-expandable DSS phone you can buy. GJ Panasonic, you have the edge over all manufacturer's is this catagory of phone.

A big thumbs up!

I don't get why other reviewers rate this phone 5, 4 or even 2 stars... You tell me, a phone is useful if its battery is dead? Noooooo.. Unless you like to talk and hear over the speaker phone..

I hate to be the only one who rates this product like this, but, what can I say, it is USELESS.

2.0 out of 5 stars Stock up on extra replacement batteries!, May 21, 2003

A friend of mine bought this phone and raved about it. So, I purchased the same one. I had to return the phone within two days of purchase because I thought the phone had a defect. The low battery - recharge alert beeped almost every time I was on the phone for more than one hour, even if the phone had just been sitting on the charger for ten+ hours. So, I brought the phone back and got another {same model and such - remember, I thought it was a product defect}. Needless to say, I ran into the same problem with the new replacement phone. The battery life on the KX-TG2593B is way BELOW expectations. The other problem has to do with the delete function on the answering system. If you hit the delete button accidently while listening to a message, the message is GONE. There is no way to retrieve it again.

2.0 out of 5 stars BEWARE...PHONE INTERFERES WITH WIRELESS NETWORK, January 11, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2593B 2.4 GHz DSS 2-Line Cordless Telephone with Caller ID and Digital Answering System (Black) (Office Product)
I purchased two of these at the same time and they work perfectly EXCEPT they know out my wireless (WiFi)computer network every time they are used. This is extremely annoying and has resulted in my need to retire these expensive phones. I tried switching the frequency, but that did not work..the wireless was still knocked out when the phone was used. So, wireless network users beware!

I bought this ... phone hoping for good quality and relying on panasonic name. Oh yes, the phone works fine. Just that the battery won't last even 20 minutes. I changed three batteries. First week, it works fine and the battery charge lasts for an hour or so. Later somehow the phone kills the battery(and yes, I followed all the instructions for better use of the rechargeable battery). Then after two weeks this "smart" phone used to put ten minutes restriction on all my calles! Wow, putting a bad battery is good way to save money on your phone bill!
I was told that higher the mAh, longer the charge lasts. After searching a lot, I found 1300 mAh battery from panasonic which is suppose to last longer. The battery no. P-P510 was recommended by panasonic with highest mAh for [the price]. Guess what, the battery wouldn't fit in the handset! Still obstinate to get a minimum value back from my phone, I had to cut the battery cover and somehow fit in the compartment...
Well, to make long story short, I am using a ... phone from [my local drug store].

This phone is GREAT. I like everything about it except the way it sits in the wall mount when it recharges. I noticed that other reviewers complain about how often they need to recharge this phone. Saying it only lasts 5 minutes then goes dead. That is due to them storing the phone on the recharger. These batteries develop a memory. If you use it for 5 minutes, then return it to the charger repeatedly, then the battery will develop a memory and only hold a 5-minute charge. If you only recharge the unit when you get a battery low indicator, then a charge will last a week or more, depending on use. The features on this phone are great. Caller ID and the ability to store names and phone numbers are wonderful. The best part is that everything can be accessed from the handset and the sound quality is crystal clear.

I have gone through a lot of cordless phones in my house. They start to get less and less battery life until I replace the battery (which doesn't really fix the problem). This phone, which I purchased for work use, works wonderfully!!! I have even dropped it a couple of times and it still keeps on ticking. The best feature is the belt clip and headset jack for hands-free phone use. I can just clip this sucker on my belt and wander around my house to talk. The only down side is that it only has about 3 hours of battery life if you use it constantly. And you can not use the headset while it is charging, so that leaves you with the only option being to use the speaker phone. But for the durability it shows, I've been very happy with the phone.

4.0 out of 5 stars Battery life issues are strange, but can be avoided, October 17, 2004
By
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG2593B 2.4 GHz DSS 2-Line Cordless Telephone with Caller ID and Digital Answering System (Black) (Office Product)
I recently acquired a 2.4Ghz Panasonic cordless phone after seeing one my parents have had the last 5 months and being very impressed with the features. I wanted to post this because I've seen the many reviews complaining of poor battery life.

My question for all the people experiencing problems: Did you leave the phone charging on the base unit while you weren't using it? If so, you should understand this. For whatever reason, these phones appear to be counterintuitively designed so that the battery lasts longer when NOT left on the base unit.

And in fact, my owner's manual for model KXZ-TG2355 states this under the Battery Information section: "If the battery is fully charged, you do not have to place the handset on the base unit until 'Recharge battery' is displayed and/or [the battery indicator] flashes. This will maximize battery life."

So although this is a very strange way of designing a phone, it regardless is not something Panasonic doesn't address in its manual, and therefore it can be avoided. Don't leave the phone charging until it needs it! I hope this review will help balance the many complaints from people who advise against getting these phones because their batteries have inexplicably gone dead.

Positives? Good cordless sound quantity even at greater distances.

Negatives? The mic on the speaker-phone is reported as sounding like I'm speaking through a long tunnel, there is no MUTE on the speaker-phone, battery talk-time is only about 90 to 120 minutes daily, and saving numbers into the directory is much hardware than their older single-line cordless phones.
