I purchased this phone after being driven nearly deaf and insane by a GE Edge phone whose ring and key volume were loud enough to hear easily in the next apartment over (and we don't normally hear our neighbors at all!), and which could not be adjusted.

Overall, this phone is almost exactly what I was looking for. It allows you to adjust ring tone, ring volume, and key tone (either on or off in the later case). Voices come through clear, and the vocal enhancement feature is nice too. It's also relatively easy to program/save answering machine messages.

I have only two minor complaints about it: First, one has to go through a couple of menus in order to turn the ringer off. I don't like being awakened by supposed charities calling at 8 am so I normally want to turn the ringer off at night and have it on low during the day. Secondly, there should be a means by which one can change the volume of the speaker; thus far, turning the voice enhancement on or off is enough for me. On the other hand, if you have sub-par hearing, you should consider a panasonic model that allows one to change the speaker volume.

Lastly, though I haven't tried it much, I don't think the speaker-phone option works very well. It is of sufficient volume to hear the person talking to you, but you still need to be within a couple feet of your phone and speaking directly at it to pick your voice up very well. I think if you want this functionality, you should probably just pick yourself up a headset.

Clear reception, easy to use, has every feature I need, nice looking, very light handsets, very good price. Highly recommended.

Panasonic has been a reliable brand for my family for some time. So when my old Panasonic phone went kaput after more than ten years, I purchased this product.

With a 1400 sq ft house, I only needed two cordless land-line phones for my office and another for the kitchen. Outside of that, I needed a phone that had a decent sized answering machine, caller ID and speaker phone functions. At a reasonable price, this product definitely fit the bill. I've been able to hear all callers clearly and without any static interference so far. I've been very satisfied with the reliability experienced whenever I've used this phone set.

I've recently bought this phone and it works great and for under $50 I think it's the most awesome deal you can find. So it you're considering it, then go right ahead. The only reason not to by this phone is....you need more than 2 handsets!

Pros - I really like that it's lightweight, can add handsets, love the intercom system, easy to use.

Cons - Has more static than my old 900 MhZ when using the extra handset. However, good phone for the price!

I bought this Feb. 15th 2008. About April 15th the base station started making LOUD clicking sounds at every incoming and outgoing call. Panasonic CS was no help. Today June 2 one of the handsets suddenly died. No display, won't indicate charging, nada. The 2nd never used, always in the charger in the other room, handset is still working. For now. I need a new phone, but it will NOT be Panasonic.

This phone is the worst cordless phone that I have ever owned. I love the cradle, size, and features and Panasonic is tops in the cordless phone biz. But if the caller cannot hear me and I cannot hear them, then I might as well be using Dixie cups tied together with string!

We needed a phone and answering matching combo for our kitchen counter to replace clutter in our new home. We found the price on this item to be attractive so we ordered it. Shipping was fast and the item arrived in good shape. It was a snap to hook up and it charged adequately. The first thing we noticed was the poor quality of the sound compared to our other older Panasonic phones. It sounds tinny and muffled especially when talking to someone who has another cordless phone or a cell. The phone is only a few months old and the black paint is already wearing off of the hand set buttons. The answering machine seems to work quite well. The cordless extension which I placed out in the garage does not seem to have adequate range. I can answer the phone when it rings and talk, but it seems as though the connection is very poor. Again, our older Panasonic cordless phones are far superior to this phone with much better cordles range. Bottom line is; it is adequate for our most basic needs, but, the quality could be a lot better. You can tell it was "made in China".

I've had this cordless phone system for three years now. It's a great unit to use for a smaller place (like my one-bed apartment) and works great with VOIP (I use Vonage, but I've used other carriers prior and it works just fine). I haven't had any problems with this unit. I have noticed that the buttons lose their paint fairly quickly, but other than that, great compact unit, good functionality, and good cordless range. Not recommended for larger homes or extended ranges.
