5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME PHONE!
I love this phone! I had a V-tech for around 5 years that never worked well. I recently purchased an expensive GE that was HORRIBLE! My fiancee has an older Panasonic cordless that works great, so I thought I'd try this one (and I love the red color). The size and weight are perfect (unlike the Uniden I purchased at the same time, which are small and slippery, but...

1.0 out of 5 stars Lasted just about one year
Bought this phone because I wanted a red cordless phone for my kitchen. The guarantee ran out -- the phone started to malfunction -- not holding a charge, indicating on the screen that it couldn't connect with the base unit (I was standing right next to the base unit). I replaced the battery -- thinking it was a battery issue. I never used the phone in the water or...

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME PHONE!, May 15, 2005
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
I love this phone! I had a V-tech for around 5 years that never worked well. I recently purchased an expensive GE that was HORRIBLE! My fiancee has an older Panasonic cordless that works great, so I thought I'd try this one (and I love the red color). The size and weight are perfect (unlike the Uniden I purchased at the same time, which are small and slippery, but work well otherwise). The reception is clear as a bell (once I moved the base out from under a shelf and hung the phone on the wall. The multi-colored lights on the antenna (which you can program to I.D. different callers) is nifty! PLUS it's water and shock resistant, which are important features for a mom who is a bit on the clutsy side! Buy this phone!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Phone a Little Pricey, September 11, 2005
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
This phone is great. I bought it for use in my garage because it's splash proof. Looked so good I moved it to my home office and will probably get another one. Loaded with features, could have been a little better on price. Construction is solid and sound is very good especially with the voice enhancer feature.

They should make this in a multi station model. More features than I needed but it has the built speaker phone which works really great. Panasonic has consistently made great household cordless phones. I have no complaints except they are a little on the high end. But I guess when you look at some of the others, you are getting the most bang for the buck. Range is good I live on an Acre and have no probelms with reception. 5.8 Ghz is really helpful, I use this near my wireless network without issue. This phone would make a great xmas gift. Looks really good in the Red color.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wonderful Phone-We Love It!, September 13, 2005

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
Well to be honest I was attracted at first because it was red. (I think it comes in black as well) It looks even better than I thought it would. But the bonus is it works wonderfully and I can't recommend this enough. We have a house full of electronics and I have used lots of products, some good some terrible, this phone is great! I will probably replace all our phones with this one eventually. I saw it in an AARP magazine to start with and it was recommended there as well as a phone with excellent reception. It is great!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great phone, October 24, 2005
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
I desperately needed to update my cordless phone and this was a great choice! The sound quality is excellent, and I get little of the "interference" noise I used to on my old phone. The speaker phone works well - no need to shout when using it! I hesitated on the color red, but it really is a nice color.

Although I wrote the review below (and assigned the uneditable star rating) after having the phone for a short while, there are now questions about the quality of the sound. Those I call are having difficulty hearing sometimes. I may return it for warranty servicing. I'm now guarded.

I've churned through several very disappointing phones including v-tech, att, radio shack, and more. I was at a point where I was willing to pay as much as $500 for a phone that just sounded good and would reliably work. I was desperate.

This phone is the answer to my pleas. This is an outstanding phone. The programming and interface are intuitive and sensible, the enhanced voice feature really works and makes the incoming caller sound as though she's in the room with you; the design is not just cool but elegant; that the antenae lights when there's an incoming call and you can even choose different colors of light to identify different caller IDd calls is nifty and fun. Incoming callers sound so resonant and lovely, you'll hope the phone never stops ringing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Really great phone, September 16, 2005

I read about this phone in the AARP magazine at the gym. I had been looking for a new phone, but this one seemed to fit the bill. It is awesome. The clarity of the signal even without the voice enhancement feature activated is wonderful. No more echos. The caller id and speakerphone feature are so handy.

I spend alot of time on the phone and this is the best 80 dollars I have spent in a long time.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome clarity and range, January 19, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
I had almost given up on 5.8 ghz after purchasing a Uniden phone that I found had a range of only about 40 feet (literally). With a wireless Internet network in my home that operates on 2.4 ghz, however, I knew I still needed to find a good 5.8 phone. After reading the reviews here, I decided to go with the Panasonic KX-TG5428. This phone is awesome! Not only does it have some cool features like being able to set certain color lights to flash depending on who is calling (requires caller ID service obviously), but it's got cute ringtones similar to what you would find on a cell phone. The best part is the range. So far I've taken it down to my mailbox at the end of my driveway (about 150 feet), and not a hint of static. Since that's the farthest I'd need to go with my phone, I haven't tested it to see how much further it could go. A great purchase!

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
MY WIFE AND I ARE BOTH DISABLED. WE WERE LOOKING TO UPDATE OUR PHONES, TO A STRONGER AND CLEARER CONNECTION,VERY EASY TO SET UP & NOT TO MENTION THE SPEAKER IN THE HANDSET MAKES IT A JOY WHEN YOU NEED TO GO TO THE RESTROOM OR CAN USE ONLY ONE ARM < IN MY WIFE'S CASE > WE WILL EVENTUALLY REPLACE ALL OF OUR PHONES WITH THIS MODEL. QUITE ATTRACTIVE AND NOT TOO SMALL. ALSO I MIGHT MENTION IT WAS RECOMMENDED BY A.A.R.P. / MR. TIROFF

This is a great telephone. It feels like an office product,

not one that was knocked off in the Far East (which it was)

for unaware consumers. My only problem with it is that the

battery doesn't like to be continuously charged, i.e., it

has a longer life if not always in the dock. I can live with

that. I wish I had the leisure time to discover all its

features, but given that it should last for years, I'll

eventually figure out how to program it so the antennas light

up (in amber, red, green, or multicolor) when my favorite person calls (see pages 24-25 in the Operating Instructions).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Buy, March 1, 2005
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5428R 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Shock and Splash Resistant Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
Because I don't need a number of handsets, I chose this phone. After reading many reviews, it looked as if Panasonic was the best cordless phone at this time. That being said, none of the cordless phones are perfect and have all the features a person would want on a phone. This phone is very clear and has many features that I need. But what I like the most about this phone is the red color. Because red is my favorite color, I got this phone. However, the best part is that the red color stands out more than my previous black or silver phones and it has been much easier to find. It does have a "handset locator," but it doesn't look like I'll need that feature much. Plus, it has a rubber trim and is shock resistant and water resistant. Because I am notorious for standing up with the phone in my lap, this is a good feature. Last, the price was just right. All in all, a very good phone.
