Amazon.com Long Range, Clear Sound, Minimal Interference
Panasonic's 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining the great security, incredible clarity and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi.

Kids Sleeping? The Antenna Will Signal You Silently
This year, Panasonic found a way to shorten the handset antenna while still maintaining the long range that Panasonic customers have become accustomed to. But what's even cooler is that the base of the antenna--which lights up--will alert you to an incoming call (or a message waiting for you1). Select from blue, green, amber or multi-color options. With Light-Up ID2, you can choose a light-up indicator color, blue, green, amber or multi-color, to link to your preprogrammed phone book data. The light-up indicator will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message in your voice mailbox. So turn off the ringer, let the kids sleep, and never miss a call.

Put the Phone Down While You Talk
Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal-until you have to call an automated phone system. By the time you press "2" and return the phone to your ear, you missed half the next option! And when they put you on hold for ten minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with the handset speakerphone. Just listen along, and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa listen to their new grandchild at the same time, painting your nails as you talk to your best friend, or just being able to set the phone down while you talk.

See Who's Calling, Even if You're Already on the Phone
We've all become accustomed to Caller ID and its ability to let us see who's calling before we answer the phone. Then there's call waiting, a beep letting us know there's another call coming in. But until now, you wouldn't know who was beeping in unless you answered it. With Call Waiting Caller ID2 you get the best of both worlds. Now when you get a beep, you can see who's calling before you answer. But we'll leave that decision up to you. 1. Requires subscription to voice mail service from your phone company.
2. Requires subscription to name-and-number Caller ID, call waiting and/or voice mail services offered by certain local telephone companies for a fee. Name pronunciation may vary. Name pronunciation quality is based on names most commonly used in the U.S.A.

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5621S 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
I just ordered this phone about a month ago. It works fine so far. It's full of features and it has a long battery life. The sound and reception are very clear, and it's very user friendly. So far, so good.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5621S 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone (Office Product)
I've turned on the VE option manaully, and it sounds a tad diff, but it's really unecessary, unless you're really far away from the base, or the base is near a computer where it could get alot of emi/rfi interference. My only peeve with this phone, is that on Panasonic's website they list this model as having the voice scrambling/digital security option, and it doesnt. But it is still by the the best phone I've ever owned. The speakerphone on the back is also great(and small, it doesnt protrude, it's flush with the back), you dont have to yell into it or hold it up to you for it to pickup your voice. I actually bought my phone from amazon a while back when they had them for thirty-five.ninetyfive, which has since gone up a bit. I honestly wish I had bought two or three of them back then, but I think I'll holdout till the splash/shock resistant models with the voice scramble option drop in price.

update: had this phone for maybe a month or more now, and I've just found more options in the menu of the phone i didnt even know existed. One of them is 6 custom rings/custom LED settings, for which you can even set for when a specific phone # calls you(you can tell by the sound of the phone whos calling). Also the top of the phone has an LED. It's not just orange, it is also red, and green, as well as any flash combo of the three. You can also set those "visual" alerts for when specific people call, again so that you know who it is without having to look at the callerid. I set mine so that when a family member calls, it blinks red, but also blinks orange when normal people(not on the contact list) call. Also, so far the battery life has been incredible(NiMH batteries as opposed to the Ni cad's that older phones use). And one should also note that, it is real 5.8GHz(both base and phone operate on the same freq[which periodically hops, for security], and interact that way). Other phone companies(vtech is notorious for it) make phones that use a diff frequency at the base, so they can claim it's 5.8, when it's really 2.4 just to save money.

This is a very good cordless phone (for an additional phone in your household). It doesn't have the answering machine portion so it's not for a main household phone. Everything else though is fine. The 5.8 GHz will alleviate any interference problems with your other electronic (transmitting) devices!
