4.0 out of 5 stars Just Fine
Not sure what problems the other reviewers were having but this phone handset system seems to be working just fine. Plenty of range and the voice quality is as good as any other phone I've owned. the keys are a bit small and takes getting used to but if you want an economic option for a multi-handset phone - these work just great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unacceptable Sound Quality Makes This Phone Worthless, April 23, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5622M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
According to Panasonic, the only difference between the "TG56" model and the "TG54" model is that the TG56 model has better sound quality. I was amazed at how bad the sound quality was on this phone. The people on the other end said the quality was good, but on my end there was a lot of static and the voice volume constantly fluctuated, sometimes to the point where I could not hear anything at all. Even at the maximum setting, the volume on this phone was quieter than my other phone's lowest volume setting. The headset jack was also problematic, creating significant static if the cable twisted at all within the port, which it seemed to whenever I moved the phone. I tried this phone for a couple weeks before giving up on it and going back to my $20 GE 900MHz phone, which lacks the bells and whistles, but does a good job with the basics.

This phone is a piece of junk. There is static no matter where I place it and It sounds like people are talking under water. I have never had a phone this bad, the problem is I didn't get around to hooking it up for about a month and a half, so now I guess it will make a nice yard sale item.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very Bad sound quality, July 3, 2007

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5622M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I am really surprized that to see the Panasonic's product quality is so bad. I have been using Panasonic cordless phone more than 12 years. I have never seen this kind of a bad sound quality phone , Even 2.4GHz phones are working better than this model.
The volume is too low and sometimes you loose the signal also. And most important thing is, the caller ID - Some times when you get call, You dont get the phone number registered in the caller ID list. Such a bad signal transmission from the base to the cordless instrument.
The reason that i dislike is that , volume is too low, the signal gets break when you talk ; caller ID dont get registered when you are on the call or it needs three rings to register the phone number in the caller id.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really bad quality, does not work with asterisk..., June 12, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5622M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I got these phones to work with asterisk FXS modules on a TDM400P. Really bad sound quality like everyone else has said. If you hook them up through an Asterisk server and then take into account VoIP delay it gets really bad.

Also, when you dial your number their is a really long delay in between each digit. Beep, wait, Beep, Wait, Beep...very annoying.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible sound - low volume, February 5, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5622M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I bought this phone since most reviews of the 5.8 GHz Panasonic phones were positive, even though a number of people complained of low volume on the TG5622. Unfortunately, my phone definitely has this problem. Everyone in my house complained about it the first time they used it. You can barely hear the person on the other end. My old 900 MHz Panasonic is much better. I'm definitely returning the new phone.

I recently got this phone and am very satisfied with the voice quality. I leave "voice enhancement" always enabled; I like the changes it makes in tonality. I've had no issues with static or signal reception. I've asked people I know well how my voice sounds on the other end, and they say it sounds fine. This is my first speakerphone-enabled phone, and I really like that feature. I find myself picking up the phone to speak directly into the mike because I'm unsure about the tunnel effect when I'm on speaker.

I have phone-company supplied voice-mail, and I like the visual indicator of messages provided by the handsets. No more pressing the dial button just to see if I have messages.

I used the headphone jack to participate in a conference call. That works without issue. I bumped the cord with my arm and heard a clicking noise, then the call dropped. Don't know if there is a cause and effect there.

I've only had the phone for a couple weeks. When I first picked up the phone without battery, the phone felt a little flimsy. I'm used to the old Bell phones you could drop 10 stories without damage. With the battery in, the phone feels a little more substantial. I stopped by a local electronics store and compared. ATT phones are sturdier, but lack the features I wanted. Considering the relatively low price, I rate this product highly.

1.0 out of 5 stars 10 yr old phone works better, September 19, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5622M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I purchased this phone... charged it up and tried it out. Took it back two days later. It had so much static. I tried it in different areas of my house and with my wireless internet disabled. I could barely hear the person on the other end. I am not kidding that my 10 year old phone that I got in college works better. I wasted my time buying this one, should have read these reviews first and saved myself the time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Disappointing Phone, April 6, 2007
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5622M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I ordered this phone with high hopes for clear reception and easy use. I was disappointed on both counts. The reception was horrible; no matter what I did I could not get the buzz out of the phone. The buttons were hard to use and the speaker feature was inadequate.

I would not recommend this phone to anyone; I have returned it for a full refund and am looking for a replacement.
