5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, A Phone With Everything I Want.
I looked and looked and read review after review and settled on a Panasonic. Now which one. I have voicemail, so I didn't want an answering machine (I don't care how great people say it is). I needed a couple of handsets this one has 3.

After I got it I checked the range. Before I had a GE 5.8 GHz Cordless Phone. If I walked 30 feet away from the base...

2.0 out of 5 stars BUZZING NOISE !!!
Overall, I really like this phone - great features, etc. However, like some of the other reviewers who've posted here, my phone began buzzing almost immediately- so badly that I couldn't hear the person on the other end (they could hear me fine). Since I have digital phone service connected to my DSL modem, I followed the owner's manual tip and bought a noise filter. This...

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5623B Black 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Three Handsets (Office Product)

If I walked 30 feet away from the base my GE got fuzzy, 5 more feet and it would turn off. The Panasonic let me go out about 40 feet before I could hear it stregthen the signal I walked another 30 feet and it got a little fuzzy. After all my walking, I got about 100 feet away before it started to get really fuzzy.

It comes with 1 base and 2 charging stations that only have electric plugs. So if you have computers, fax machines, or what ever else, this phone system won't take up all your telephone plugs. The redial keeps the last 5 numbers dialed. You can set speed-dials numbers in one phone and... ( I can't remember the term Panasonic uses) import the numbers to the other phones.

My only semi-complaint is about the intercom. I just think it could have been designed a bit better. This comes with three phones and there is no way to have all three phones on the intercom at the same time.

Other than that this is a great phone at a good prices. It was $20 cheaper than Panasonic sells it on their website.

I recently purchased the four handset version of this system and am very pleased with it. All of the features are convenient and work well and the voice quality is very good. One feature I especially like is that it can store up to 50 names and phone numbers in each handset. And, once programmed in one handset, entries can easily be tranferred to the other handsets if desired. Another convenient feature is that the system can be used as an intercom, with each handset capable of calling each of the other handsets. This is the most complete and most convenient phone system I've ever had and I like the quality and reliability of Panasonic products. Note, however, that this model is just a versatile cordless phone system and does not include an answering system. This feature is included in model KX-TG5633, which also has all of the features discussed above.

Phones work just like they are supposed to. My wife wishes they came with clips so you could carry them around the house or yard while doing other things. Overall a good value.

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5623B Black 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Three Handsets (Office Product)
This worked fine for about a week, then the buzzing returned. I bought another filter, thinking the first one had crapped out, but the buzzing persisted. I even had a technician from the cable company come out to check their equipment, which was in perfect working order. I was assured by the cable company that their system would support this phone. SO..... after much frustration, I'm returning this to Amazon today (luckily, it hasn't been 30 days since delivery yet). BEWARE WHEN CONSIDERING BUYING THIS UNIT!!!

1.0 out of 5 stars BUZZING phones!, November 21, 2006

At first I thought this phone had everything - and it is loaded with features, and has a good range. However, after using it for about 5 weeks, I now have a very, very loud buzzing noise on all the handsets - it appears to come from the base and it is so loud I can barely hear the caller. I have tested this base on other jacks (still same problem) and I have tested other cordless phones from the existing jack, and they work fine with no buzz. I'm convinced it is in the base unit of the Panasonic phone. But after multiple email customer service attempts at Panazonic, I have not yet heard anything from this company. I'm scrapping the phone and buying a much cheaper, but more highly rated AT&T.

We just received these phones a few days ago and so far we like them o.k. There is one feature that these phones do not have and I miss it very much is a lighted keypad. I didn't realize these phones did not have that feature until they got here and I tried using them in my bedroom one morning when the room was dimly lit. Would I still have purchased them if I had known about this? probably, just because I didn't realize how much I would miss not having that feature because I depend on that more than I realized. It's not that big of deal, I just have to turn on the lamp now.
The handsets are a good size, not too small and not as big as the older types, they fit between my shoulder and ear very comfortably.
The only other thing that I wish was different is the way it displays the phone number when you are scrolling through the caller ID. On the first screen it shows the name that is displayed on caller ID, with time of call and etc. but the phone number flashes on the screen a couple of seconds later on a second screen, it doesn't show all the information on one screen. It's not that bad since you don't have to manually search for the phone number, it flashes it for you, but I found it to be a little aggrivting. I'm sure over time I will learn to adjust to it. As far as the clarity and range, The clarity has been great. I have had no interferance so far and the range is great. They seem like they are well built and will last a long time. Let's hope.

You can't go wrong with this phone. I've always been a fan of Panasonic phones. I've still got 3 old Panasonic cordless phones that just won't die.
Pros:
Feels solid and comfortable in your hands
Sound quality is good - even at a good distance from the home base
Speaker phone is clear and callers can hear me well
Blinking light on antenna for voice messages
Black & grey color is attractive and looks good almost anywhere in house

Cons:
I wish the keypad had a backlight
When you scroll through calls, the name and number are not on the same screen

Love this phone. Would recommend it to everyone. We found it at Target but ordered it online due to condition of stock at the store. Would give a 5 star but has no backlighting for numbers but it really is nominal. Some issues that folks have noticed are easy to fix.
1. If any unit still blinks even though you heard the voice mail already, just hold down the OFF button until the second beep and all will disappear.
2. We had buzzing noise but turned off the Voice Enhance feature and it immediately went away.
The unit furthest away from the base,(and we have a large 2 story)worked flawlessly. Sound quality on this phone is exceptional. Have to turn down the volume once in awhile due to it sometimes being too loud! And love being able to work at the computer without losing internet connection. Had no issue with copying phone book, has worked everytime. Being able to erase all the calls at once is a great option also. Keep the ones you want on the base unit and mass erase off the other units.
I could keep going but it might get boring. So just go get one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not very good, December 21, 2006
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5623B Black 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Telephone with Three Handsets (Office Product)
I have had these phones for a week now and at first they worked great and one week later you can hardly hear the person on the other end. This is my second set, I returned the first set for the same problem n hopes that it was just bad phones, but the second set is just as horrible... Dont waist your money..

I bought these phones on the recommedation of a family member, and I couldn't be more thrilled. These are the best phones that we have ever used. The sound quality is unbelievable and they had all the features we were looking for.

I have to emphtically disagree with some of the other reviews on this page. You won't be sorry with this product.
