I recently purchased this versatile cordless phone system and am very pleased with it. All of the features are convenient and work well and the voice quality is very good. The four handsets may at first seem excessive, but actually they provide convenient access to a phone no matter where one is in one's house. For example, I now have enough handsets to add them to the kitchen and main bathroom, which can be quite handy at times. Also convenient is the fact that only the main unit requires a phone outlet -- the three extension units requires only power outlets for their chargers. Another feature I like is that each handset can store up to 50 names and phone numbers. And, once programmed in one handset, entries can easily be tranferred to the other handsets if desired. Another convenient feature is that the system can be used as an intercom, with each handset capable of calling each of the other handsets. This is the most complete and most convenient phone system I've ever had and I like the quality and reliability of Panasonic products. If you want the features of this versatile phone system with fewer handsets please consider model KX-TG5633 which has two extension units or KX-TG5632 which has only one extension unit.

Have had the Panasonic KX-TG5634M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange® Digital Cordless Answering System with Four Handsets working for about a month now. The intercom/walkie-talkie function between the handsets is cool. The phone works pretty clearly throughout our multi-level house, and is even very clear when answering a call or using the intercom from the neighbor's house. The phone number function works well; it's convenient that each phone has a separate phone bank and the numbers can be copied between phones. The batteries, so far, give my daughter more than four hours of talk-time before charging, though, it could be longer; we curtail her chance to push the limit. Being able to plug in a headset is also a plus. I recommend this phone system.

After reading a ton of reviews and looking around town at many of the multi-handset digital 5.8GHz cordless phones, I finally ended up selecting the Panasonic KX-TG5643M. Originally I was searching for a Motorola product figuring the quality brand was a safe choice, but after reading the reviews, more negative than I anticipated, it made sense to consider some other options. In my opinion this system gives you the biggest bang for the buck. It has 4 handsets which is huge for our family, and the paging intercom feature has been such a convenience. I can't believe how much quieter the house is without all the yelling from room to room. All we do now is pick up the phone and dial the handset # of the room where we need to get someone's attention. We've only had the phone for two months and so far no issues with battery life or volume settings. The connections have all been very clear for us. The deal on Amazon was better than Target's sale price and it was delivered straight to my door. Great buy!

This is the best cordless telephone system I have owned. I previously had an AT&T 2.4 system and was not happy with the interference or the comfort of the actual phone against my head when talking. I looked at the Uniden system but did not like the workmanship quality or comfort feel in my hand. I think anyone who purchases this system will be completely satisfied.

Purchased the Panasonic system about one month ago to use with Earthlink's True Voice VoIP system. It shipped promptly, arriving sooner that estimated. Initially had a few folks I called complain of hearing echoes. This was resolved by Earthlink in their LinkSys phone adapter software - it was not the Panasonic unit. Volume is very good and sound crystal clear. Used it outdoors up to 100 feet from the base station with no degradation. At about 150 feet there was some breakup, but still useable enough that I could walk closer to house and maintain the connection.

Enjoy being able to copy the phone book from one phone to another. Do not find it a problem to have to copy it manually one phone at a time. Some are complaining in these reviews about the "missed caller" messages appearing on all phones. However, even if you have already taken the call on another phone, should you then decide you want to talk to this person again, you can do so from ANY phone by just clicking through the prior calls to their number. You do not have to recall which phone the call came in from to find their number. So, I do not see this as a real negative other than having a lot of old phone calls to delete now and then from each phone.

Unlike some, I like the size and feel of the phone, but the buttons are a tad small as a result and of course the backlit feature would have been a nice addition. It seems sturdy and well-built. I find the speaker phone option to be excellent and have had no complaints from those I call about sounding like I am in a barrel. I use this option frequently.

I don't use the annoying, but optional, ring tones - like the conventional. Find no real value in the colored flashing lights on the antenna. Do like the bright screen - easy to read caller id function. Would prefer that there be a single talk/off button rather than having two, but that is just getting use to a difference from my old phones.

Bottom line, a few minor nits which are really more user preferences and hardly could result in less than a 5 star rating. Highly recommended. Have previously owned 90MHz Uniden and 2.4GHz ATT. Like the Panasonic best.

I needed to upgrade from a 2.4 to a 5.8 because it was loosing my conversion, now with this new phone it is great. I can hear everyone and they can hear me. No more asking "what did you say". THe caller Id works great and I would agree to talk to anyone about this purchase.

The functionality of this system is very good. Many options are available to personalize each phone, such as different ring tones for each unit, etc. When updating the built in directory on each phone, you have the option of transfering the updates to one or all of the other phone units in the system, or each phone may have a completely different directory (50 numbers per phone unit). The ONLY negative thing, for me, is the lack of a back lit key pad. My old Panasonic phone had one and I could see the numbers when placing a call at night in the dark. This system is great for "internet provider" phone systems and does away with the problem of rewiring your house for individual phones.

This cordless answering system is meeting all of my
expectations. Amazon's price of $160 was certainly better
than Best Buy at $224 for the system that did not have FHSS. Although Amazon had to back order, it was worth the wait for the savings. I hope the numbers on the number pad continue to work on this unit for a longer time than on my previous unit. That was my only issue about a previous Panasonic unit. Since I have some hearing difficulties this unit makes it very easy to hear and understand. So far so good.

I have had my phones for a couple of weeks and I believe they are the best cordless phones I have ever owned. The features are great and the clarity is excellant. I haven't had them long enough to know how long they will last but if their service life is good then I'll have no complaints. I have no problem recommending these phones, based on my current experience with them.

This Panasonic telephone set is fabulous... So many features, hubby and I are still learning about them. Even works from 5 blocks away (no mountains interfering)... so I carry this when walking or bicycling to keep in touch w/ the home base, by use of the "page" system.
Absolutely the BEST price offered for 5.8 GHz.
