Hear Who's Calling Without Getting Up
With Talking Caller ID¹, you don't have to get up to see who's calling-the phone will tell you. Panasonic cordless phones are the only cordless phones to incorporate true text-to-speech technology used in conjunction with your Caller ID service. There's no need for preprogramming or any fancy setup-as long as you have Caller ID service, just plug-and-play! Now you won't be interrupted by strange calls when you're washing the dishes, eating dinner or just watching TV. Let the phone tell you who's calling, so you can decide if you want to answer it or not.

All-Digital Answering System
This phone system is equipped with an all-digital answering system for quick, easy retrieval of crystal-clear messages. Message operation has never been easier, with up to 21 minutes of recording time, plus such features as pre-recorded outgoing message, remote operation, Tollsaver, and skip-and-repeat. And don't worry about losing your messages when the power goes out-they're stored in flash memory so they're unaffected by power failure or interruptions.

Kids Sleeping? The Antenna Will Signal You Silently
This year, we've found a way to shorten the handset antenna while still maintaining the long range that Panasonic customers have become accustomed to. But what's even cooler is that the base of the antenna - which lights up - will alert you to an incoming call (or a message waiting for you1). Select from blue, green, amber or multi-color options. With Light-Up ID2, you can choose a light-up indicator color, blue, green, amber or multi-color, to link to your preprogrammed phone book data. The light-up indicator will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message in your voice mailbox. So turn off the ringer, let the kids sleep, and never miss a call.

Put the Phone Down While You Talk
Having a handset speakerphone may not seem like such a big deal-until you have to call an automated phone system. By the time you press "2" and return the phone to your ear, you missed half the next option! And when they put you on hold for ten minutes, do you really need to hold the phone? Not with the handset speakerphone. Just listen along, and press a button or pick up when it's convenient. You'll think up other great uses, like letting Grandma and Grandpa listen to their new grandchild at the same time, painting your nails as you talk to your best friend, or just being able to set the phone down while you talk.

I bought this phone about 2 weeks for myself mainly because I was curious about the talking caller-id. It works well and pronounces the name accurately to my surprise. I then got one for my mother who loves it. She told my aunt about it, now she wants one. I guess I'll be buying another one for her. Initially I was concerned because the volume was low even though I had it turned up to the max. After a few days it started getting louder. Now it's loud and clear. The same thing is true for the phone I got for my mother. She like the handset because it's light and fits comfortably in her hands. This phone has great features and is easy to use and set up.

Beware, per Panasonic's website, this is a ONE line phone. Still, I own several Panasonic cordless phones and they are quite simply THE BEST there is. After spending years with other brands, Panasonic definitely won me over and continues to do so.

Ordered from Chumbadeals for a Christmas present on 7 Dec when it was labeled as "in stock ships immediately." On 19 Dec. amazon.com let me know that the order had not even been confirmed by the vendor and that I should contact the company directly. I did. This was their reply:
