Product Description

Amazon.com

Amazon.com The Panasonic KX-TG5672B cordless phone system utilizes 5.8 GHz Frequency-Hopping Spread Spectrum technology, meaning that it operates on a different wavelength with much less traffic than the 2.4 GHz technology while maintaining the great security, incredible clarity and long range. Have a wireless computer network, or thinking about getting one? 5.8 GHz technology will not interfere with wireless networks such as 802.11b or 802.11g Wi-Fi.

Let the phone tell you who's calling, so you can decide if you want to answer it or not.

All-Digital Answering System
This phone system is equipped with an all-digital answering system for quick, easy retrieval of crystal-clear messages. Message operation has never been easier, with up to 15 minutes of recording time, plus such features as pre-recorded outgoing message, remote operation, Tollsaver, and skip-and-repeat. And don't worry about losing your messages when the power goes out-they're stored in flash memory so they're unaffected by power failure or interruptions.

Hear Who's Calling Without Getting Up With Talking Caller ID, you don't have to get up to see who's calling-the phone will tell you. Panasonic cordless phones are the only cordless phones to incorporate true text-to-speech technology used in conjunction with your Caller ID service. There's no need for preprogramming or any fancy setup-as long as you have Caller ID service (requires subscription with local telephone company), just plug-and-play! Now you won't be interrupted by strange calls when you're washing the dishes, eating dinner or just watching TV. Let the phone tell you who's calling, so you can decide if you want to answer it or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent home office / work at home / telecommuter phone, October 2, 2006

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5672B 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Answering System with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
Panasonic KX-TG5672B

I am a work at home telecommuter and although I don't have excessive needs, there were several features I have found to be near vital for the work at home person.

* comfortable headset which stands upright easily.
* headset speaker phone with mute
* base unit speakerphone with mute
* 5.8 GHz to not interfere with wireless network
* digital answering machine
* call waiting

For someone just starting out as a telecommuter, the speakerphone features and mute features are indispensible. Some people prefer headsets, but I find it too similar to being leashed to your desk. A good headset speakerphone prides a quality speaker with which you can listen to conference calls, while on mute, and the microhones are very good quality so those on the other line can hear you well. The Panasonic KX-TG5672B is all of this.

The base system is not too large and take up too much room. Additional features like being able to interact with the answering machine from the headsets is a very nice feature also.

I had a V-Tech cordless phone previously and there is a noticeable quality difference between the V-Tech and Panasonic brands. I did quite a bit of research and read many reviews on the cordless, 5.8GHz, answering machine + speakerphone models. The Panasonic really seems to be out in front.

I have been very satisfied with the KX-TG5672B, it has proved itself to be well made and I have had no issues in the 4 months I have used it. I would recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent phone Tons of features, October 14, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5672B 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Answering System with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I purchased this phone system as a gift. I set it up and used it extensively. The handsets have features that you are used to finding in a cell phone. Many different ring tones to choose from, the antenna lights up when a call comes in. You can even set special colors and ring tones for specific callers so you'll know when they're calling without picking up the handset.

Talking caller ID is great too. No more rushing to find the phone only to discover it's a sales pitch or a call that could wait.

I set this phone up on a voice over IP cable modem phone and the calls are loud and clear.

The phone is running next to an 802.11b/g wireless computer network and has NO interference at all.

One suggestion to make the batteries last longer: Do NOT leave the phone sitting in the charger all the time. This will basically be constantly charging the batteries and will wear them out MUCH faster. Instead leave the phone off the charger until the battery alert beeps and the phone displays "recharge" on the screen. Then let it get a full charge. You'll find that the batteries will not need to be replaced for a year or more instead of 6 months or so.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but missing speed dial on hand set., August 22, 2006
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG5672B 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange Digital Cordless Answering System with Dual Handsets (Office Product)
I liked sound clarity and all features of the phone including Answering machine sound quality.Base and handset speakerphone is excellent.Took out one star because there is speed dial from base and not handset.

Update: Both phone gives "no link to base" error now(after 3 years of use).Have to keep it on base permanently to make it work.
