Another Great Telephone System from Panasonic!,

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG6054B 5.8 GHz FHSS Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System with 4 Handsets (Office Product)
I have been a loyal Panasonic cordless telephone customer for many years now. I am always impressed with the stylish look, awesome reception, useful and fun features, durability and reasonable cost of Panasonic cordless telephones. Even back in the days of 900 MHz cordless phones, Panasonic always seemed to offer the most features and best quality for the money. Well the KX-TG6054B does not dissapoint in the least bit!
To be honest I was a little concerned with the new design, which does away with the traditional antenna "nub" that Panasonic is known for. I was afraid that the lack of this antenna would affect reception and limit distance I could travel with the phone from the base. Well I am happy to say that I was wrong. My wife can walk several houses down the street (city street mind you, were houses are not very far apart) and still receive calls on the new cordless phone. Reception is flawless, with no static, and no dropout sound. The tonal quality of the sound from each receiver is very good. We don't particularly care much for the "Voice Enhancer Technology" as it seems to make the sound a bit artificial. Still I can see where some may like it, as it increases volume and clarity of sound when speaking with a distant (soft spoken) sounding caller. The backlit LCD display is big and clear, even easy to read in moderate sunlight. I will not go into all of the features of this phone, as the list is quite extensive. However, I would like to note that the talking caller ID, which may seem a bit silly to some at first, is really a handy feature that we have grown to love. The text to speech technology in this phone leaves a little to be desired, but you get used to it after awhile and you can always make out who it is that is calling. It pronounces words exactly as they are spelled, for the most part, so a last name like Scholten is pronounced "Sholten". As I said, you get used to it. =o) My only dissapointment with this phone is the lack of backlit keypads. I specifically chose this model, after doing a bit of research on the Panasonic website, because it was claimed to have backlit keys. I purchased two sets of these phones (one for us and one for a neighbor friend) and I can definately tell you that the claim of backlit keys is false. It may not seem like a big deal to most people, but if you want a phone that you can see the keypad in the dark, while trying to dial, then this becomes an issue of frustration. At least the LCD display is backlit so that you can see when you have mashed down the wrong digits while trying to dial a phone number. I also miss an included belt clip for the telephone handsets, which Panasonic had always provided for models in the past. If you like to use a heaset with your phone, as my wife often does while running her home daycare business, then you find that a belt clip is a needed accessory for clipping the phone to your belt or pants pocket. Sure the phones are small enough that you could probably cram it into your pocket, but then you would surely find that buttons would be pushed when inserting the phone and/or when walking around with it in the pocket. I also want to note that the 5.8 GHz Panaonic phones will not win any awards for longest battery life; at least when it comes to talk time. The best we can get out of a full charge is about 5 hours of talk time. Still, with 4 handsets at your disposal you can certainly keep enough of them charged to hand off a call to another handset when the low battery alert warns you that you are on borrowed time. Several other manufacturers have managed to squeeze out far more talk time on their 5.8 GHz phones so I don't know why Panasonic always seems to come up weak in this category. However, if you are looking for a cordless phone that will impress you with its long battery life then you should consider one of the Panasonic Dect 6.0 models. They claim to last up to 17 hours of talk time on a single charge. That is simply amazing to me! My next choice of cordless phone may just be a Panasonic Dect 6.0 system. Overall I would highly recommend the Panasonic KX-TG6054B. Amazon has a great price on this system, which includes not two, not three, but FOUR cordless handsets. You will not be dissapointed with the sound quality and plethora of features of this system. Unless Panasonic decides to cut corners and begins producing far less impressive cordless phones in the future, I will remain a very loyal customer.

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG6054B 5.8 GHz FHSS Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System with 4 Handsets (Office Product)
pros-
*Love the price 125,00 *they don't need to be reset again after power loss *always love the speaker phone. cons- *I don't like the locator/intercom in this model. It calls all the phones the same time e the base rings together making it very difficult to find the handset. Otherwise is a great phone. My old KXTG-2432 was a much better phone (perfect) the only problem was that I needed a 4 handsets now and they were way too expensive.

With the advent of the cable modem, it's often difficult to get phones hooked up in every room, and these phones make that easy. As opposed to other brands which I ahve tried, these come already registered to the base. Also, they function far more similarly to the cell phones we are already used to. Scrolling redial, exporting address books to other handsets, built-in speakerphones, and even a bizarre "slow" feature that slightly slows down the voice of a live call - I guess handy for getting directions, although I haven't done more than try it to see what it sounds like. Overall, if you need multiple phones and only have one jack, this is a great solution.

Panasonic KX-TG6054B Cordless Phone System,

I am extremely pleased with this phone system. I just moved into a 57 year old home, which had one functional phone jack. This alternative allowed me to place stations on all floors of the home. The talking Caller ID feature, while convenient, is difficult to understand since it speaks phonetically exactly as displayed. I highly recommend this product.

This quite simply and shortly put, is the best phone system I have ever had. What a treat to actually be able to have clear, undisturbed signal, even when a great distance from the Base Unit. The ones I had before would not touch this one. I have a quite large home and I could literally just take one phone at all points in the house, and use it with a crisp sound. Not to mention, if I had to wander out doors, even a fair distance from the house, she remains crystal clear with No static or lose of signal. Impressive to say the least. I love this so much, I am now purchasing another Panasonic system for my business!! Great Value!! I have paid far more for Far, far less. This System is it!!

Panasonic Phone System works great.,

I looked at several different models of the Panasonic cordless phone system before picking this model. It worked great right out of the box with no complicated instructions. The additional features are still surprising us because there are so many. My husband, who isn't very good with electronics, put in our telephone list and transferred them to the other phones. If he can do that, anyone can. I would definitely recommend this system to others. Price was very reasonable too.

Bought these phones after not having any luck with another set of phones I bought on Amazon. The voice caller ID is somewhat comical because of the way ID's get pronounced, but it is still quite helpful as far as I'm concerned. I like the feature that allows you to enter your address book in one phone and send it to all the other phones. Many multi-set phones make you enter your address book in each phone. As of now I am still experimenting with some of the many features offered by the phone.

I purchased this phone set to replace some very bad Uniden phones we have had for some time.
The phone setup was very easy (I am low-tech and I did it by myself in no time). The range is great - we have not had any issues with reception anywhere on our property - inside or outside. Voice quality is good. And, when I get a call waiting signal, I no longer worry that I am going to lose my hearing. The Panasonic phone sends a beep, not the nasty, loud squawk that was damaging my hearing on the other phone. There are a lot of features on this phone that I have not used yet. So far, we are very happy with the phones and the quality.

Good range, superb clarity. The phone book can be easily synced with all the handsets. And the speaker phone function on the handsets works great. Can't comment on the messaging features because I don't use it (I have the phone company voice mail). The only improvement I could ask for would be some sort of belt clip for the handsets.

these new phones are the bomb. we have vonage so the talking caller id is alway a plus. that mean it tell you who's calling. the only thing we had trouble with is direct tv,vonage (work good with this),wifi works good with this), we had to do something toget it around the direct tv hookup in the house or we couldn't use the phone. but once we got that we are find and not to mention that direct tv is upgrading and didn't inform anyone that it could mess up everything.
