Continuing their product line of good phones,

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TG7534B DECT 6.0 PLUS Expandable Digital Cordless Phone and Answering System with 4 Handsets (Office Product)
This is the third generation of Panasonic phones I've bought. I've owned this phone for two weeks. I upgraded from the Panasonic Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System - 3 Handset System (KX-TG9333T) which was a product that never worked well for me -- the phones would sometimes lose power immediately after I clicked "talk" to answer incoming calls. This new phone has worked well for me. I withhold one star from my rating because the user interface is a little clunky.
Compared to the earlier Panasonic models I've owned, this one offers a larger screen, some user-interface changes, and the Dect 6.0 "Plus" technology. The larger screen is nice simply because much of the displayed information is larger, nothing revolutionary there. The user interface is a little clunky, but not frustrating. I can't vouch for any benefits of the "Plus" technology b/c I've never had signal problems in my house. Three things I like about these phones. It seems it's easier to for the phones to share their information. The phone book and call history seem to be more uniformly presented across the phones. It used to be my phones would become out of sync and I'd have to find the right phone to get the info I wanted. Also, I can name each handset in my system so when I want to use the intercom to call from phone to phone, I can easily identify which phone is the one in the kitchen (provided everyone remembers to put each phone back where it belongs). I don't know if other manufacturers put the "call voicemail" functionality at the top menu level -- especially when considering the phone has it's own answering machine that I choose not to use-- but I like how easily I can check voicemail using the user interface. Two gripes about the user interface. With the enlarged display, Panasonic opted to replace the top-level text-based menu with icons and text. This choice seems silly to me. The screen is restricted to displaying six icons, one of which is an image of the globe that is labeled "Customer Support." Selecting this icon simply displays the URL of Panasonic's customer service URL on the phone's display. I expected more. The primary navigation motif of the user interface is that three navigation options are listed at the bottom of the display (eg. you can select between "phone book," "menu," and "redial"). There's a corresponding button on the phone below the left and right navigation options, but the center option requires pressing the center button of a little button cluster that is nearly an inch lower on the phone. This is counterintuitive.

Text on phones rubs off like grease pencil!,

We just got this system and haven't even used it for a full month yet. I just noticed that the text on the face of the phones was starting to disappear already. I gently wiped my finger over the remaining text and the words rubbed right off. And these are important words that are disappearing (REDIAL, CALL WAIT, VOL, SP-PHONE). This isn't the kind of design flaw that can just be overlooked - we have to return it. It's too bad because we really like the system otherwise.

Loved this phone but after 2 weeks my wife noticed that certain functions printed below buttons, specifically Redial,Call Waiting, Vol, CID and SP-Phone were rubbing off when touched by a finger while holding the phone. The numerical buttons and the Talk and Off buttons are fine. It only happened to the functions printed on the case of the phonen not directly on the buttons. Amazon was great and sent me another phone but the same thing happened again. Although I rubbed the function descriptions on the new phone when it arrived, and they did not disappear, they did with use of the phone. My wife thinks it happens after the phone warms up during use and I think she's right. You could easily rub the function descriptions off during normal use and not realize it. Has anyone else experienced this problem. If you already have this phone, take a look and respond please.
March 2011 update. Returned this phone for a KX-TG6541 which is essentially the same phone except the characters are printed on matte finish plastic instead of a shiny glossy finish plastic. Had the phone several months now with no problem. Panasonic should do away with the glossy plastic.

We had an old 6.0 system (not a Panasonic) that was crackly-sounding...so I bit the bullet and bought this set. We've had it for about a month now. I can't think of anything negative about this set.
It's fabulous! You plug the main phone into your phone line & electrical outlet, and the other 3 phones can then be plugged into any electrical outlet in any room in your house. No need for hard-wiring them to the phone line! Boy, is that nice since we have rooms that don't have phone jacks! (Kind of like having wireless computer access in your house.) It's definitely user-friendly. The large display is wonderful and the keys are back-lit making dialing in low-light much easier. The battery-life seems to be quite long and they recharge when you put the phone back in the cradle. I've never had any run low or run out yet. Oh, another thing that's very cool - if you put someone's name and phone number in one phonebook it sends (somehow) that information to all of the other 3 phones. Now, for those of you wanting a "MUTE" button: There is no dedicated "mute" button but this one does have that feature. It just lights up on the dial pad when you are using the phone and works quite nicely, kind of like a flash button. Oh, and we do have wireless computer access and there has been NO interference from it with the phones or the microwave or anything else. You won't be disappointed. We think they're great! We may get a few more phones to add to this set later on.

I just wanted a nice looking phone with good quality sound and a few extra units for locations without phone jacks. This set had the highest ratings by previous reviewers. I followed the reviews and was not disappointed! This phone set is more than what I was looking for. Features I love for which I wasn't specifically looking:
- caller ID is announced in voice, no more looking at small caller ID display! - very large display digits, so easy to see - shows current time in large digits on display (if you set up time) - illuminated display and dials - speakerphone on every set - intercom allows calls between the units - message play back from any unit - blocks up to 30 unwanted phone numbers The only thing I wish for is a good headset for this phone for hands-free talking. Some are sold separately but don't have good reviews and not as convenient as AT&T's headsets.

I've had Panasonic phones before and have never had problems with the speaker. For some reason people aren't able to hear me very well when I have them on speaker phone. I also noticed it doesn't have a speaker on the base or keypads like my old Panasonic did. I miss just dialing and talking through the base speaker like I did before without having to hold a phone.

Really great phones for the money! This is the fourth set of cordless phones we have bought and this is the best yet... Very easy to use and instructions are good. Really like the "booster on" feature. We can get far from the house and the phone still gets reception. Many nice features.

The four phones are a convenience and for that I love this product. However, for some reason, people have a problem hearing me when I put it on speaker. Similarly, I have a problem hearing them. Older panasonics have never given me this problem.

I've had my Panasonic KX-TG7534B phones for about three weeks. They replaced a set of 2.4Ghz phones that suddenly started picking up latino music. I wasn't able to change the base frequency, so I had to replace them. The DECT 6.0 phones pick up no interference, and so far, have provided great range and long battery life. However, in the past two days I have experienced a problem where I received a "busy" error when I attempted to answer an overseas call from my boss. Since I am the only one in my household, there was no one using the other handsets, so that is not the problem. Also, the phone worked fine when my boss called again five minutes later. This anomaly is very disturbing. The other issue is the amount of effort required to clear the call log. Each call requires select--confirm yes--select--select. My AT%T phones allowed me to delete the log records with only one push of a button per call...and on the base I could delete the entire log at one time. This could be simpler. The final nit to pick is the lack of a wall mount for the base station. Had I known that I probably would have opted for a different set of phones. Now I have this ugly wall plate and a dangling cord getting in my way in the kitchen.

Good set of phones. Super easy set up. My only complaint is that the words on the phone (i.e. redial, CID) have started to fade and rub off already and we've only had the phones for a few weeks. Oh well. Not worth returning for that. Otherwise, they feel good while talking and don't take up much space on tables and counters.
