Finally a good phone,
By Whitney W. (Washington, DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA560M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange® Expandable Digital Cordless Handset (Office Product)
We purchased this phone with four headsets about a year and a half ago. Overall, it has performed very well - the headsets retain their charge for a long time while off the cradle (they often go for several days before being returned to the cradle for part of a day). We've never experienced interference on the sets and everything works in a straightforward, logical manner regarding saving numbers, viewing caller id, etc. The speakerphone - like most - sounds a bit hollow, but it is still clear enough for long, hands-free conversations. We don't often use the answering machine, but it is also easy to use when we need it. This has been a great cordless phone system.

This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA560M 5.8 GHz FHSS GigaRange® Expandable Digital Cordless Handset (Office Product)
I'm 67 years old, and I've been through a LOT of phones. The Panasonic 5.8GHz is simply the best I've seen. This order was just for an additional handset, but I've been using their 5.8GHz for over a year. Compared to earlier (lower GHz) generations, the sound quality is much better, and the Panasonic has every feature that I can imagine. My wife uses the phone for business, and she threw out two competitive brands for rather minor quirks that bothered her when on the phone a lot. But, she loves this one!
Oh, one last thought. It might apply to all 5.8's, but the battery life (between charges) is much longer than 2.4's, etc.

This may be the last time I purchase a land line phone. Hardly anyone calls me on my land line anymore... everyone calls me on my cell. (duh) So even though this has been a great phone, it's days are numbered.
