5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product with some possible problems (read it!)
I would rate this product as excellent even I had to do some troubleshooting.
Here is a problem I had: when I connected the USB device, installed the software, registered with base, etc. I did not hear audio on a Panasonic phone. The reason was that Panasonic USB Audio was not listed in Playback devices. After some time I found it conflicted with Logitech USB...

Odd reviews. Go over to the Skype forums reviews and this product get's very poor to worst reviews. This is a group, I assume is technically competent and has used, or tried to use, the KX-TGA575S for a while.

I would rate this product as excellent even I had to do some troubleshooting.
Here is a problem I had: when I connected the USB device, installed the software, registered with base, etc. I did not hear audio on a Panasonic phone. The reason was that Panasonic USB Audio was not listed in Playback devices. After some time I found it conflicted with Logitech USB webcam (in your case it could be other USB device Panasonic is conflicting with). So the solution is to disconnect USB webcam or another usb device before plugging in Panasonic USB (or in device manager uninstall USB Audio for Panasonic, unplug webcam, search for hardware change and install Panasonic USB Audio, plug webcam back)
The only other minor thing which I don't like is that I can't log off/login from Skype using the phone, so when I don't want to receive Skype calls (obviously at night) I need to step down to my basement and turn Skype off on my computer.
Tip: set Skype AUDIO IN/OUT to Panasonic, but leave default audio device to your computer audio system and you can use it simultaneously.

4.0 out of 5 stars USB Skype Adapter for Panasonic Cordless Telephones, January 9, 2007

Excelent product that delivers what promises. One minor flaw, though: Since it needs to "take posession" of the PC sound in/out (i.e. mic and speakers) with the XP it is not quite simple to use the sound for anything else simultaneously with this device.
Instalation of both device and software was very simple.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great product but some features would be good, January 14, 2009

It is a great alternative to expensive stand-alone Skype phones, if you always have a computer turned on in your house and already have the compatible Panasonic phone. I have two slightly negative things to say besides the countless good things, like excellent voice quality, reliability and super easy installation and use.

1. The compatible Panasonic phones are really ugly and cheap looking. There are so many stylish phones out there, why cannot they take some design ideas from there.

2. Some standard Skype features are not available on the handsets. You cannot log in and out of Skype and cannot sort contact in any other way but alphabetical. These are minor inconveniences.

I would highly recommend this to anyone having an always-on computer at home.

Wow, does this make placing and receiving skype calls easy!
Installation takes a few seconds and then your regular landline telephone can be used with both your ordinary telephone service and Skype.
Easy to use and performs just as advetized.
If you are in need of low cost domestic and or international calling, I recommend highly.
