OVERALL BEST QUALITY CORDLESS PHONE,
By Ormly Gumfudgeon "Airport Bum" (San Clemente, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Panasonic KX-TGA930T Extra Handset for KX-TG9333T Cordless Phone, Black (Office Product)
GOOD: Sound quality, range, appears to completely surpress interferrence. Uses rechargeable AA batteries that are easy and inexpensive to replace (thank you Panasonic). Can individually program each handset to auto-answer when picked up from the recharge cradle.
BAD: Display and TALK/OFF buttons text fonts too small to read without glasses (not great for older eyes). Not so much a problem once you get used to the phone and know which buttons are which. Display backlight goes out after about 2 seconds, apparently can't be programmed to stay on longer. Press any button and it comes back on, but that doesn't help you find the button you wanted. Other keys are not back-lit at all; tough to dial in the dark. Handsets hang up when placed back in the recharge cradle--that's mostly okay, but if using speaker phone for a long call, it would be nice to allow phone to keep charging in the cradle yet remain connected. Apparently that's not one of the programmable options. WISH FOR: Color code TALK (green) and OFF (red) buttons. More than 6 handsets (current system limitation). Corded handwet for base unit, to allow 6 cordless handsets AND make base unit operatational during power failures. OVERALL: Better quality than the competition. Uniden has better display contrast and corded base-unit handset on some systems, but lacks Panasonic's sound quality and range. Panasonic beats VTech for sound and build quality, VTech batteries hard to find and expensive to replace.

I bought a Panasonic KX-TG9344PK DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone System for my home. I liked the system so much that I decided to add two extra handsets of this model to the system, and they fit right in with no problem. I'd recommend this product to go along with the phone system.

In case you want to add an extra handset to your Panasonic Cordless Phone System, this handset works with Model KX-TGA931T. This model # is not listed on the Installation Manual but it does work. Just follow the easy instructions and you will be good to go. Be sure a handset is in the base when you are trying to register it with the base. Your system will recognize the handset and number it as well. In my case number four as I had three handsets already.

I would recommend this phone. Not too many bells and whistles, easy to use, reliable, good sound quality. I purchased additional handsets to go with my Panasonic KX-TG9341T phone system, giving me the maximum 6 phones for the system. Satellite phones were easy to program to the base. All phones share a common address book, so that was all I needed to do. You can opt to have the phones announce the name on caller ID. This seemed like a great idea at first (and comes in handy if you are away from the phone with your hands full and want to screen your calls), but I found that having all phones announcing the caller at once was too much noise. Now, I only have a couple of the phones announce the caller. Perfect. I would recommend this phone system.

I purchased the KX-TH1212B Panasonic wireless phone system with Bluetooth link-to-cell and 2 additional KX-TGA930T handsets. The system installed easily and the advertised features are great. The big draw back is the handsets have a very limited range from the base station. We tried all 4 of our handsets and found that we could not get more than 10-15 feet from the base station without problems.
The first thing we noted was we could not be understood by callers. Through expermentation we learned that if we remained near the base station no problems were enecountered, but as soon as we moved away we could not be heard and if we moved 20 feet away we lost the call. I tried the recommended web help www.panasonic.com/help. There was no new information to be found, so I sent an email from the website that was never returned. Today I called the helpline and was told that if my house has thick walls it may not work. The techncian also said that the technology of this phone is different than 900MHZ wireless phones. It uses a higher frequency and thus has a limited range, which she quoted as 10-15 feet. This is a ridiculous range for a wireless phone. I cannot recommend the Panasonic Dect 6.0 technology. It might was well be tethered with a wire.

I bought the original Panasonic 4-phone set elsewhere, which supports up to 6 phones. So, I ordered an additional handset KX-TGA930T here. Price was very competitive, delivery was very prompt, and the handset works just like the original 4. Installation was straightforward and easy. I don't know how this could have been any better.

after a week these started going bad, same issues as others, calls dropping, buttons not working. I'm like what the f-? these are brand new! my neighbor then tellsl me she had the same issue with a recent set as well. Has now served solely as an answering machine and waiting to buy another another set because girlfriend lost the receipts. ugh! used to be a good brand but what can I say, quality and reliability have sunk to garbage. sticking to other brands on all my electronics, audio & tech/telecom.

These cordless phones are the best I've ever used. I have 6 of them and only the base unit requires a phoneline connection. They are crystal clear, can be used as intercoms and take fine messages. Lots of other great features. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.

Been a disaster since the day we bought them.
Digital screens go in and out. Sudden hang-ups while on speakerphone. Important buttons like "Talk" and "off" don't respond reliably. After 6 months have gone crazy and need to buy new phones again.

Phone works great - no interference, good sound quality. I like the speakerphone feature, and of course caller id and phone book.
We are using this phone as an add-on to our existing kx-tga630 3-phone system. (They're the less expensive gray models). We purchased this model in the hopes that it was compatible. Yes, it would appear to be totally compatible. Nothing online specified one way or the other, so we took a chance. Amazon, by the way, had the best price hands-down. Anyway, the reason that we bought this was for the headset connection that our existing models don't have. I will add that we also like the intercom feature. In closing, I highly recommend this (supplemental) phone. Shirky |
